Greetings iMedDo congregation! I’ve written a lot about the thyroid in the past, but it’s never enough because so many people, women in particular, are still suffering from easily curable thyroid diseases from lack of knowledge. I bought a thyroid magazine and was disgusted to see how much incorrect information was in it, how discussion of mercury heavy metal toxin and the importance of vitamin C was completely omitted from it, and the magazine promoting stupid things like fluoride and radioactive iodine that it inspired me to write this article as a counterstrike against the darkness. The forces of light are now fully gathered, & it’s time I show the world that I’m the world expert on thyroid health. Quite simply, I am the Thyroid Whisperer. In this article I will explain to you how the thyroid actually works in a way you’ve never heard before, and once you understand then you will be amazed, armored, and armed with the power of God to help heal the world.

FOR ANYONE WITH LOW ENERGY READING THIS

The people I am most trying to help have low energy, and when you have low energy you don’t even have the energy to read this article. Whether your thyroid problem is subclinical, you just feel something is wrong and haven’t gotten tested, or your tests were inconclusive, or whether you have either hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, both of which are known to cause symptoms of low energy, what you need to know is that:

Iodine is an energy molecule. When your calcium levels are off it’s actually magnesium you need to stabilize energy. Getting daily vitamin C anti-oxidant will work wonders to make your vitamin D work to protect your thyroid. To get energized nascent iodine to fix your thyroid, re-energize, and detox done right get the iMedDo detox system. If you are too low energy to read this article but can do a phone call please contact me iMedDo.club/book for help, there is hope.

PART ONE: DRBENGO HEALTHWARRIOR EXPLAINS THE THYROID

    WHAT IS THE THYROID

“The thyroid is a mass of tissue in the neck. It’s located underneath the Adam’s apple (thyroid cartilage) in both men and women. The thyroid tissue is derived from the tongue during developing, but because it controls energy metabolism (fire) in the body, it can be best thought of as the “Tongue of Fire.” DrBenGo Healthwarrior

In the past I’ve thought of the thyroid as a “butterfly” because that’s how the Greeks viewed it as Psyche/Soul:

    https://imeddo.club/news/thyroid-quickening/

But now in 2025, I think of my thyroid as an armored dove descending like a tongue of fire:

“Armored Dove” where dove wings are thyroid lobes, and shield helmet is thyroid cartilage.

Imagine the Thyroid cartilage neck armor like a golden helmet protecting your head like a shield helmet (Aegis Helm / Aegisjalmur), and imagine the thyroid as a pair of dove wings associated with the Holy Spirit like a “Tongue of Fire”.

“They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.” Bible verse Acts 2:3.

The word thyroid comes from the Greek word “thyreoeidēs” meaning “shield-shaped” referring to the thyroid cartilage. The thyroid gland itself is not shield shaped, but rather is shaped as a pair of wings (most commonly imagined as butterfly, dove, or protective angel wings).

    WHAT DOES THE THYROID DO?

The thyroid is responsible for controlling all the energy in the body i.e. metabolism. The thyroid gland balances the energy needs of the brain above the neck with the energy needs of the rest of the body below the neck.

The thyroid balances the energy needs of the head above the neck with the energy needs of the rest of the body using both iodine & calcium modulation.” DrBenGo Healthwarrior

“The secret of the thyroid which your heard from the Thyroid Whisperer first is that iodine itself is the energy molecule, and that calcium is really regulating magnesium for energy stabilization. ” DrBenGo Healthwarrior the Thyroid Whisperer

FOUR THYROID HORMONES & A BRAIN HORMONE

“The thyroid uses four hormones, two that modulate iodine energy, and two that modulate calcium for magnesium energy stabilization which overall modulate energy needs of the entire body.” DrBenGo Healthwarrior

The four hormones are T4, T3, PTH & calcitonin. T4, T3, and calcitonin are made by the thyroid proper, and PTH is made by the parathyroid as part of the greater thyroid anatomy. The thyroid also responds to a fifth hormone from the brain which stimulates the thyroid into action called appropriately thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH).

A common point of confusion concerning the thyroid is that people refer to TSH as thyroid hormone when really it is a brain hormone. The mistake is easy to make since typically when people test their thyroid, they test TSH level which is really an indicator of whether the brain is asking for energy or not.

MULTIPLE FORMS OF IODINE USED BY THE THYROID FOR ENERGY

For me to become the thyroid expert I am today, it took me approximately two decades of education where I spend the first decade learning science (biochemistry , biophysics, neurosciences), and the second decade learning about iodine. There are many forms of iodine, and to really understand the thyroid you have to learn about the different forms of iodine and how they are used in the thyroid. There is a progression of learning about iodine from learning about iodide (iodine salt), to learning about Lugol’s solution (molecular iodine and iodide in water solvent), to learning about Nascent Iodine to learning about how energized nascent iodine is used in the thyroid as organified iodine (iodine attached to carbon) in the thyroid hormones as T4 and T3. T4 contains four molecules of energized iodine and T3 contains three molecules of energy iodine. The breakthrough I made in thyroid physiology is realizing that it is the iodine itself which is the energy molecule.

One you realize that iodine itself is the energy molecule, and understand that like a battery iodine can be “energized” or “dead” then the mysteries of how the thyroid work start to become revealed.

Nascent iodine is the energized form of iodine and iodide salt form is the unenergized form of iodine.

The iodine in thyroid hormones T4 and T3 are energized iodine (made from nascent iodine into organified iodine).

T4 (thyroxine) with four energized iodines on it is a super energy molecule, and is the main energy molecule that the thyroid makes and sends out into the blood for the body and brain to use.

When a tissue wants energy it gets it from one of the four energized iodine molecules on T4 resulting in the still triple energized T3 the active thyroid hormone which now not still contains a lot of energy in its three iodines but also is now used as a signaling molecule which tells the tissue to ramp up energy production via mitochondrial biogenesis.

By monitoring T4 and T3 levels and the ratio of T4/T3 the thyroid “tongue of fire” can taste how much energy reserve is in the blood (T4), and can tell how hungry the body and brain is for more energy. T3 levels elevated indicate tissues are mobilizing energy by tapping into T4 energy reserves. T3 sends the signal for tissues to ramp up energy production in the form of ATP energy from mitochondrial biogenesis.

Iodine does much more than just be an energy molecule because it’s also used in energy storage (T4), in energy mobilization (T3) and has additional germicidal, detox, and anti-cancer and even anti-oxidant functions.

Iodine paralyzes worm parasites using iodide receptors, germicidal and anti-cancer features of iodine when it is in energized molecular form (which has potential to become two atoms of nascent iodine) are believed to be from iodine’s chemical reactivity similar to oxygen. Energized iodine, like oxygen, can oxidize an element on the periodic table allowing the body to use it to detox any toxin making it particularly useful for heavy metal detox. Chemical similarity of iodine as a halogen allows it to detox other toxic halogens fluorine and bromine.

Iodine not only stimulates more mitochondria, iodine is used in the body to sense and destroy dysfunctional mitochondria. The thyroid’s use of iodine for energy doesn’t just make and store energy, it ramps up energy, and detects cells with an energy problem (cancer) and destroys.

Iodine is used in the body as both an oxidant for detox and an anti-oxidant for protection.

“Iodine destroys pathogens and cancer with energy like a flaming sword wielded by the thyroid as your Guardian Angel” DrBenGo Healthwarrior

Thyroid as Guardian Angel wielding a flaming sword driving out the serpent of disease changing curse to cure.

    THYROID ANATOMY

The thyroid is named after the shield shape of the thyroid cartilage, but it’s actually the winged shaped thyroid gland itself that are we are interested in.

    Thyroid Anatomy Src: stanfordmedicine25.stanford.edu

So why is the thyroid shaped like a pair of wings? So that it can monitor the blood. Each lobe (wing) of the thyroid sits on top of the carotid artery.

    THE THYROID CONTROLS ENERGY

WING SHAPE OF THYROID IS SO IT CAN MONITOR & CONTROL ENERGY IN THE BLOOD

Note how butterfly shape of the thyroid fits perfectly in the neck to allow the thyroid to keep tabs on all the blood coming up the neck from the heart into the brain via the carotid arteries, and all the blood coming back out of the brain back to the body via the jugular veins.

The wing shape of the thyroid is so that it can monitor, filter, and modify the blood going from the heart to the brain and back.

The thyroid modifies the iodine and calcium levels in the blood to control all of energy metabolism.

HOW OFTEN DOES ALL THE BLOOD IN YOUR BODY FLOW THROUGH THE THYROID?

I’m under the impression that at least every few hours all the blood in the human body flows through the thyroid. I asked an AI to do the calculation to confirm:

Every hour the total volume of a human body flows through the thyroid. [ Using parameters of Blood flow 100 mL/min for healthy adult human and 6000 mL (6 L) of blood in human body calculated by Grok AI].

The thyroid monitors and modulates iodine energy and calcium in the blood.

The energized iodine energy system is the primary energy system of the thyroid, and I view the calcium system as a backup energy system of the thyroid. It is my belief that the thyroid prioritizes iodine energy and then taps into the calcium system for additional energy as needed. The thyroid also has another backup iodine system where it can recycle iodide into energized iodine but it has to work hard to do that as will be explained by iodine recycling system.

The thyroid also listens to the brain’s requests for energy and takes them under advisement. The thyroid attempts to meet the brain and body’s energy needs using primarily an iodine energy system, a backup calcium energy system and a backup iodine energy recycling system.

    IODINE FOR ENERGY

Iodine: The thyroid monitors and controls energy in the blood by monitoring the T4, T3 and T4/T3 ratio of energized iodine containing thyroid hormones in the blood. T4 is the energy storage molecule, T3 is activated thyroid hormone that signals to mobilize more energy by mitochondrial biogenesis. Ratio of T4/T3 is supposed to be 20:1 when your body has full energy supply which it monitors two weeks out. When thyroid notices energy from the iodine system is getting low (drop in T4, elevated T3 then drop in T3, and decreasing ration T4/T4 <20:1), it will either attempt to output more energy in the blood by producing more thyroid hormone T4 & T3 and releasing them into the blood. Normally the thyroid produces and releases 80% T4 and 20% T3 into the blood (T4/T3 ratio of 4:1). The thyroid is like a battery constantly putting more fuel into the blood in the form of T4 which is the primary energy storage molecule. The T3 released by the thyroid is like your base metabolism signal. Your body is not fully topped off on energy until T4/T3 ration is 20:1. T4 can be used by every cell in the body for immediate energy upon conversion to T3 which then serves as a signal to greatly amplify energy even more.

T4 & T3 thyroid hormones are not just signaling molecules, they are energy storage molecules with energy stored in their iodines. This is the missing piece of the thyroid puzzle that everyone was missing. Once you realize that, thyroid physiology as to what the thyroid is actually doing i.e. energy control, will start to make a lot more sense.” DrBenGo Healthwarrior the Thyroid Whisperer

    CALCIUM FOR ENERGY

Calcium: The thyroid monitors and calcium levels in the blood which are also indicative of body energy level indirectly via phosphate and magnesium levels. The thyroid monitors and modulates calcium levels in the blood using the two non-iodine containing peptide hormones calcitonin and parathyroid hormone (PTH). Parathyroid hormone is the more important of the two as its how the thyroid tells the rest of the body (bones, kidneys etc) to get more magnesium and phosphate for ATP energy production. Parathyroid hormone (PTH) is produced by four small glands near the tips of each of the thyroid wings (lobes) on the back side of the thyroid.

Location of the parathyroid glands make it easy for the thyroid to send PTH calcium elevating hormone into the bloodstream. When calcium gets too high, the thyroid uses calcitonin to bring the calcium levels back down. High calcium is indicative of high energy, but too high calcium can signal cell death. Low calcium is indicative of low energy. There are over 16,000+ calcium signaling pathways in the body and the thyroid is the master modulator of calcium as the Ca2+ ion. PTH signals bones to dissolve and release calcium (and magnesium). PTH signals kidneys to absorb more calcium (and magnesium). Vitamin D works in the PTH calcium controlled system of the thyroid to also elevate calcium (and magnesium) levels.

“The calcium backup energy pathway is actually controlling magnesium levels. The connection of calcium to magnesium and magnesium to energy stabilization was another important missing piece of the thyroid puzzle” DrBenGo Healthwarrior

Magnesium is used in 300 of the most ancient energy pathways in the body. Each molecule of ATP (adenosine tripohosphate) requires one molecule of magnesium Mg2+ to stabilize. When the thyroid elevates calcium it’s really elevating magnesium usage to attempt to stabilize energy.

“The physiology of the thyroid makes sense now where the iodine system with T3 amplifies ATP production and the backup calcium system of the thyroid gets magnesium to stabilize ATP production.” DrBenGo Healthwarrior the Thyroid Whisperer

    IODINE RECYCLING FOR BACKUP ENERGY

The thyroid needs a constant supply of energized iodine to keep making T4 & T3 and outputting them as energy molecules into the bloodstream. If energized iodine stores get low, the thyroid will attempt to re-energize iodine i.e. tap into an iodine recycling system. The iodine recycling system is very well understood as it involves the import of iodide salt with sodium into the thyroid and the use of the enzyme TPO (thyroid peroxidase) to re-energize the iodine into nascent iodine so that it can be used as organified iodine (iodine attached to carbon) in the thyroid hormones T4 & T3 which contain four and three molecules of energized iodine respectively.

The problem with iodine recycling from undergized iodide is that TPO creates oxidative damage which if not controlled can actually damage the thyroid. Many thyroid diseases are from iodine recycling gone wrong. Supplementing nascent iodine bypasses iodine recycling system to kickstart the thyroid without risk of oxidative damage.

Supplementing iodide will not work if your iodine recycling system is shut down from too low anti-oxidants or too high toxicity level.” DrBenGo

Amazingly, energized nascent iodine itself is an anti-oxidant, so basically it takes energized iodine to restart the iodine recycling system. Iodine as an anti-oxidant to protect it and Iodine as an oxidant to flush out toxins like mercury gunking it up.

Mercury heavy metal, fluoride toxicity and low selenium nutrient are common problems which throw a monkey wrench in iodine recycling system. When your body has plenty of antioxidants like glutathione, vitamin C and vitamin E, and selenium used in GPO (glutathione peroxidase which uses selenium to help glutathione anti-oxidant) then it can readily recycle iodide salt form (unergized form of iodine) into nascent iodine (energized form of iodine) for use in thyroid hormones. High sodium salt intake can make the iodine recycling system work too much resulting in too much oxidative damage from TPO. Uncontrolled use of the iodine recycling system by the thyroid can result in the thyroid damaging itself. Rather than damage itself when iodine gets low, the thyroid would rather tap into the backup calcium system for more energy first.

“Once you detox you can use nascent iodine to restart your iodine recycling system safely when you get topped off on anti-oxidants, and then your body can process iodide again.”

People with thyroid inflammation and thyroid disease cannot typically handle taking iodide form of iodine as they lack the energy and anti-oxidants for the body to use it until they detox more first. .

    CALCIUM IS INDICATIVE OF MAGNESIUM

Calcium is stored and retrieved from the bones, and calcium in the blood is retained or excreted by the kidneys. Calcium in the blood is monitored and controlled at the thyroid by the two peptide hormones PTH (to elevate calcium) and calcitonin (to reduce calcium).

The thyroid reads low calcium levels as low energy and higher calcium levels as abundant energy. Too high calcium though becomes toxic so the thyroid has to always keep calcitonin in reserve to keep calcium from getting too high. The main way the thyroid responds using the its calcium system to low energy is by using parathyroid hormone (PTH) which sends the signal out into the blood to the rest of the body to start making changes in the body to facilitate making more energy. PTH signals the bones to start dissolving and to the kidneys to start retaining more calcium where ultimately what the thyroid is trying to do is to get magnesium & phosphate for use in ATP energy production. As kidneys retain more calcium they also retain more magnesium. Even though PTH is thought of as elevating calcium, what it’s really doing is trying to get more magnesium for energy stabilization.

A common problem I see is that people with low energy, low calcium, and osteoporosis try to take calcium supplements. It never works. They need nascent iodine and magnesium to restore energy not calcium pills. The reason the bones are dissolving is because the thyroid is using PTH to try to get more energy from more magnesium for energy stabilization. The thyroid isn’t just trying to elevate calcium for the fun of it, it’s probably trying to get more magnesium not more calcium. It could get all the calcium it wanted from the bones, but it keeps dissolving the bones trying to get at magnesium! The solution is to take magnesium supplements instead of calcium supplements, and to also take nascent iodine supplements to give the body more energy allowing the thyroid to make more T4 and T3 so that it doesn’t have to try to elevate PTH to get more energy via the backup calcium pathway. For more information read article Calcium: Thyroid & Osteoporosis.

    IMPORTANCE OF VITAMIN D & C

Vitamin D works with PTH to elevated calcium levels by helping the kidney retain more calcium (and thus magnesium).

Vitamin D helps the they thyroid backup calcium energy system via the PTH pathway, however unless you are also taking enough Vitamin C , getting enough cholesterol in your diet and also getting enough sunshine, your Vitamin D may not work. Without your vitamin D working your PTH backup calcium energy system of the thyroid may be severely compromised and low energy low calcium symptoms are expected.

I recommend you get 100% RDA Vitamin D from supplements like a multi-vitamin and then focus on making more naturally through skin exposure to sunshine. If you can’t get exposure to sunshine taking colloidal gold like NeuGold is like liquid sunshine. Vitamin D is made from cholesterol so if you are under the mistaken impression that you should be watching your cholesterol or taking toxic statin drugs your body can’t make enough vitamin D. Vitamin C is required to reduce free iron to activate your Vitamin D, so focus on getting daily Vitamin C to make your vitamin D work. Vitamin D will work synergistically with PTH from the thyroid to help your body retain not just calcium but magnesium. So be taking magnesium. Once thyroid start getting nascent iodine it will start cranking out iodine energy (T4/T3) which will take the stress off the thyroid’s calcium pathway using PTH. As your energy levels go back up your calcium levels will return to normal. And you never had to take a calcium supplement to make it happen. For more information on vitamin D read article Vitamin D: Deception which got over 25,000 views on Twitter/X:

    IMPORTANCE OF SELENIUM

Selenium is an important nutrient which is similar to sulphur which is used in detox and in the energy pathways of the thyroid. Iodine used as an oxidant can loosen up toxic heavy metals which can be bound and eliminated by sulphur and selenium. The body uses both inorganic and organic forms of selenium. Selenium is synergistic with silver with anti-mercury and anti-cancer properties. The organic forms are used in the sulfur containing amino acids cysteine and methionine where selenium replaces the sulfur forming special amino acids selenocystein and selenomethionine. These special amino acids are used in critical detox proteins like glutathione antioxidant (which can use sulphur or selenium). Because of this many people think of selenium as an anti-oxidant as its used that way in a protein in the thyroid called GPO (glutathione peroxidase) that protects oxidative damage in the iodine recycling pathway from TPO (thyroid peroxidase).

However, selenium is much more complicated than that, and like iodine and can be used as both an oxidant and an anti-oxidant in the body.

“Mainstream medicine over-emphasizes the importance of selenium while underemphasizing the the importance of energized nascent iodine. I put less emphasis on selenium and more emphasis on getting energized nascent iodine with silver and gold. Selenium like silver and gold helps protect from mercury, and selenium is very important when trying to use the iodine recycling pathway which creates oxidative damage. However, I don’t try to use the iodine recycling pathway, as people with thyroid problems can’t handle the oxidative damage when their energy and anti-oxidants are low. Instead of using iodide salt form of iodine for the iodine recycling pathway, I use energized nascent iodine to bypass the iodine recycle pathway. ” DrBenGo Healthwarrior the Thyroid Whisperer

Selenium works synergistically with silver to protect the thyroid from mercury heavy metal poisoning, and like silver has powerful anti-cancer properties.

Selenium is important for thyroid health as it both helps the body activate iodine energy & to recycle iodine energy.

Selenium is used in an enzyme called DI (de-iodinase) [Sounds like Die, I prefer to call it Live] to help convert T4 into T3 which mobilizes iodine energy and signaling to amplify energy via mitochondrial biogenesis. Selenium helps convert T4 the iodine energy storage molecule into T3 the activated thyroid hormone. DI like it sounds Die is used by tissues that might be dying as they need more energy for whatever reason (germ attack toxins cancer etc). If your energy reserves are high (high T4) but your brain is still starving for energy (high TSH indicating brain requsting more energy), and your T3 (activated thyroid hormone) is low, it can sometimes be because you are too low selenium for tissues to activate T4 into T3 as not enough selenium containing DI/Live protein. Mercury toxicity from amalgam filling is a common cause as mercury interferes with selenium. Selenium though not a metal is synergistic with silver for suppressing mercury toxicity. (I use silver, iodine and gold in the iMedDo detox system where I use silver instead of selenium for thyroid health).

Selenium is the most important in the iodine recycling pathway which where it is used in an enzyme GPO which helps negate the oxidative damage of TPO when the body attempts to recycle undergized iodine (iodide) into energized iodine (nascent iodine) used for making organified iodine in the thyroid hormones T4 & T3.

Selenium is chemical similar to sulphur, and selenium is used instead of sulphur in the two sulphur containing amino acids (cysteine & methionine) to make special selenium containing amino acids (selenocysteine & selenomethionine) which are used in proteins important for thyroid activation of iodine (DI deiodinase which I prefer to call LIVE) and recycling of iodine (GPO which protects from TPO):

The thyroid gland contains the highest concentration of selenium of anywhere in the body.

The reason for high selenium in the thyroid is possibly for the same reason a swordfish has high selenium in its body i.e. to protect from mercury heavy metal. Live evolved to use iodine very early during the switch from prokaryotic to eukaryotic life. Even fish and sharks can get thyroid problems from low iodine, and their energy disrupted from heavy metal toxicity. From fish we see that concentration of selenium can be used to counteract mercury toxicity. However, when we eat a swordfish we can accidentally poison ourself from too high mercury bound to selenium. I find that taking nascent iodine, silver and gold for mercury with emphasis on higher does of silver is more effective for combating mercury than just taking more selenium.

IMPORTANCE OF ANTI-OXIDANTS FOR THYROID HEALTH

The more low energy low energized iodine you get, the more your body will instead switch to reliance on iodine recycling and calcium energy backup systems for more energy. The backup iodine system of iodine recycling is very problematic because the process of re-energizing iodine from iodide salt form into energized nascent iodine using TPO (thyroid peroxidase) to create energized organified iodine in thyroid hormones T4 & T3 creates oxidative damage which can actually damage the thyroid when uncontrolled. The selenium containing enzyme GPO (glutathione peroxidase) is the main way the thyroid tries to protect itself from auto-oxidation from iodine recycling, where master anti-oxidant glutathione is important as well as many other anti-oxidants like vitamin E and vitamin C. Turns out the most important anti-oxidant of all here is just nascent iodine itself!

The revolutionary part of using energized nascent iodine supplementation done right in the iMedDo detox system is that it bypasses the iodine recycling pathway allowing the thyroid to make T4 & T3 naturally without having to risk oxidative damage by recycling iodide.

    IODINE ITSELF IS AN ANTI-OXIDANT

Iodine connoisseurs want energized nascent iodine not iodide. The reason is to bypass the oxidative damage of the iodide recycling system. If supplementing iodide form of iodine is important that you get anti-oxidants.” DrBenGo Healthwarrior

“Iodine, nascent iodine but not iodide, is also an anti-oxidant.” DrBenGo Healthwarrior

“The two most important anti-oxidants for thyroid health in my opinion are nascent iodine and vitamin C.” DrBenGo Healthwarrior.

Even though this AI doesn’t know about nascent iodine, it does note that even regular molecular iodine (energized molecular iodine turns into two molecules of nascent iodine) is 10x more effective than vitamin C and 50x more effective than iodide form of iodine as an anti-oxidant:

Brave Browser AI on iodine as anti-oxidant.

The darn AI said it better than I could so I just copy pasted above. Basically how iodine is used as an anti-oxidant in the body is very complicated and even the Thyroid Whisperer is still trying to figure out what is going on . Talk about iodolipids, Nrf2, SOD, Cat are beyond the scope of this article. I’ve been stuck at how iodolipids are used in the body for the past 10 years. Much about iodine is still unknown but at least I figured out enough to figure out how the thyroid works. As more is discovered about iodine more will also be revealed about thyroid physiology as well. Remember iodine is used in every cell and every mitochondria in the body not just in the thyroid is a very broad topic. I hope this article will inspire a new generation of thyroid and iodine scientists to keep at it on this as seems like I’m the only one doing any work and I don’t have much funding. If you would like to donate to my research so I can do even more iodine science please donate to my church iMedDo Foundation.

SEX SPECIFIC DIFFERENCES IN THYROID ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY

Men have larger thyroid cartilage than women (Adam’s apple), but the thyroid gland itself looks the same in men and women. But the physiology of the thyroid gland is very different in women.

If you think of energized iodine as gas, It should be obvious that women can store more iodine than men. Men need iodine for thyroid and detox, whereas women need iodine for thyroid, breast, ovaries and detox.

WHY DO WOMEN HAVE 7X MORE THYROID PROBLEMS THEN MEN?

Women have 7x more thyroid problems than men in spite of men and women having very similar thyroids. REFERENCE: Allen E, Fingeret A. Anatomy, Head and Neck, Thyroid. 2025 Jun 23. In: StatPearls [Internet]. Treasure Island (FL): StatPearls Publishing; 2025 Jan–. PMID: 29262169.

I’m pretty sure it’s because women need approximately 7x more iodine than men.

My hypothesis is that the difference is that the body of a woman is different than the body of a man and can require up to 6-8x higher energy needs during pregnancy, and 2-4x more energy in general. I see the higher incidence of thyroid problems in women as a reflection of higher energy and thus iodine nutritional requirements of women as compared to men.

Women give their iodine to their baby during birth, and continue to give iodine to the baby via breast milk. If you pay attention you will notice that many women get thyroid, breast or ovarian cancer right after having a baby now from iodine deficiency where the solution is iodine replenishment.

Using NeuIodine nascent iodine, where 1 drop is 100% RDA, I recommend 2 drops for men, 4 drops for women and 6 drops for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Note how I’m recommending 4-6x higher iodine dosage form women than the government RDA which is close to the 7x higher estimate needed from higher incidence of thyroid problems in women from low iodine. .

“The thyroid in men and women is the same, but the body of man and woman is different where the woman’s body needs much more energy, and has much more iodine energy storage capacity and daily needs than that of a man. Because of this, iodine is thought of as the “female nutrient” but it’s also important for men as well as both women and men need it for energy just in different amounts where women need a lot more.” DrBenGo Healthwarrior

The thyroid and breast tissue form from the same embryological tissue and both have function of absorbing and storing iodine. Whereas the thyroid put iodine into T4/T3 hormones, the breast packages iodine and sends to the breastmilk. It should be obvious from breasts alone that women have larger iodine storage capacity than men, and it explains why women also require greater iodine intake than men.

It’s not the thyroid that’s different but that the bodies are different between men and women. The brain energy needs are the same but women need much more iodine energy than men and have much greater iodine storage capacity in their other reproductive tissues than men. The thyroid works the same balancing the energy needs of the brain and the body, but the energy balance is different in women since their bodies have greater energy needs for their reproductive cycles.

Men need a drop of NeuIodine for their thyroid, and an extra drop for detox. Women need a drop of iodine for their thyroid, and extra iodine for their body: a drop for their breasts, and an extra drop for their uterus, and an extra drop for detox. Pregnant women need an extra iodine for the baby through pregnancy, and extra iodine for the breastmilk while nursing.

“Women have more thyroid problems than men because they have more severe iodine nutritional deficiencies than men because their body requires higher energy needs than men, so it’s more easy for the body/brain thyroid balance to get off in women. The solution is a sex specific iodine nutritional dosing for women. Give women more energy, and their thyroid balance is restored.” DrBenGo Healthwarrior

THYROID SENDS ENERGY TO THE BRAIN

“The brain gets priority over the body for energy using its own brain hormone to request more energy from the thyroid.”

The thyroid related brain hormone that requests energy from the thyroid is called thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). TSH works in a negative feedback loop between the brain pituitary gland and the thyroid to get more iodine energy (T4, T3) containing thyroid hormones up to the brain. To facilitate getting more energy up to the brain against gravity through the neck, the thyroid can use its calcium modulating to elevate blood pressure in a complex pathway involving bones and kidneys, vitamin D and magnesium using PTH.

Because the thyroid develops anatomically from splitting off from the tongue, it’s helpful to think of the thyroid blood monitoring of energy functions as the thyroid “tasting the blood”.

The thyroid tastes the blood (monitors blood), by looking at TSH levels, T4, T3 levels and the ratio of T4/T3 levels, and calcium levels to decided whether it has enough energy to send more energy in the form of T4 into the blood for the brain with elevated blood pressure. Ultimately, having enough energy or not depends on the body’s available stores of iodine for energy and magnesium for energy stabilization.

    HOW DOES THE THYROID WORK

The thyroid controls metabolism in the entire body by regulating energy. The thyroid has both energy control functions, and protective functions which both rely heavily on iodine nutrient for both energy storage and for signaling, and additionally iodine is germicidal and used for detox. The thyroid’s energy control functions also use calcium as an indicator of magnesium. For protection, the thyroid can serve as a blood filter that uses iodine to kill pathogens in the blood as they attempt to get to the brain. The thyroid in its protective functions works closely with the immune system with the nearby thymus anatomy. The thyroid uses both iodine and calcium modulation to control energy. The thyroid can even control blood pressure which it will elevate to get more energy to brain when needed. To control blood pressure, the thyroid elevates parathyroid hormone levels (PTH) to elevate calcium and magnesium retention in the kidney in a pathway which overlaps with vitamin D. Many people think the brain controls the thyroid, but in my opinion, the thyroid is the ultimate decision maker concerning energy. The thyroid listens to energy requests from the brain and balances them with availability of important energy molecules (iodine, phosphates and magnesium) which it monitors. The brain requests energy from the thyroid using the brain hormone TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) which has a negative feedback loop. The thyroid monitors iodine levels very closely, and takes a more macroscopic zoomed out approach to monitoring magnesium & phosphate stores indirectly by modulating calcium levels.

“Iodine & calcium are used by the thyroid to make & modulate energy in the body, primarily as T4 energy and ultimately both iodine and calcium control ATP energy where thyroid listens to the brain’s energy requests (TSH) to balance energy output and production with the body’s stores in the bones of phosphates & magnesium necessary for making and stabilizing ATP energy.” DrBenGo Healthwarrior

IODINE IS THE PRIMARY ENERGY SYSTEM OF THE THYROID

The primary energy system of the thyroid uses iodine mineral nutrient for energy storage and control.

The secret of the thyroid’s primary energy system is that iodine and the iodine containing thyroid hormones are actually under-appreciated energy storage molecules. Low iodine corresponds to low thyroid hormones corresponds to low energy. T4 (thyroxine) which contains four molecules of energized iodine is the primary energy storage molecule of the the thyroid. T3 which contains 3 molecules of iodine is the activated thyroid hormone which the thyroid uses as a signal to mobilize the production of massive amounts more of energy to make lots of ATP energy via mitochondrial biogenesis. Iodine not only stores energy as T4 and signals for more energy as T3, but can be used as an alternative oxygen sensor to assess mitochondrial membrane function and to kill dysfunctional mitochondria and cancer cells. Iodine is also used for germicidal protection and for halogen and heavy metal detox of poisons out of the thyroid and out of the entire body.

Iodine is an energy storage molecule.

Iodine mineral nutrient (element I on the periodic table i.e. element #53) is energized by the thyroid to be used as an energy storage atom which used by the body as energy molecule in iodine containing thyroid hormones (T4 & T3).

Iodine containing thyroid hormone T4 (thyroxine), which contains four molecules of iodine, can be thought of as a high energy storage molecule.

Iodine containing thyroid hormone T3 (triiodothyronein), which contains three molecules of iodine, is also an energy storage molecule, but it is also the active form of thyroid hormone which signals cells anywhere in the head or body to start making more energy.

The thyroid is derived from the tongue, and like the tongue it can “taste” iodine. The physiology of the thyroid is that it monitors the ratio of T4/T3 thyroid hormone levels which are supposed to be about a ratio of 20:1 (lots of high energy T4 to a little T3 activated) to indicate that the body is topped off on energy for two weeks out.

“The iodine energy system which uses the iodine containing thyroid hormones appears to be the primary energy system of both the brain and body.”

The thyroid produces both T4 and T3 in a ratio of 80% T4 (high energy storage molecules) and 20% T3 (active thyroid hormone) i.e. T4/T3 at an approximately 4x ratio.

What the thyroid does is package energized nascent iodine as organified iodine (iodine attached to carbons in the iodine containing thyroid hormones) and then sends the T4 & T3 energy storage molecules out into the blood to be used by whichever tissues in either head or body that needs them.

The brain gets energy priority using its own energy requesting brain hormone TSH.

When the brain is hungry for more energy it elevates TSH levels which the thyroid decodes to mean that the brain is requesting more energy.

The thyroid will then check energy levels (looking at T4 & T3 levels and their ratio T4/T3) to make sure it has enough energy to send to the brain or not.

Chronically high TSH levels mean that your are chronically low energy which is typically because your body is low iodine nutrient. Not enough iodine, not enough energy. The solution is just to take more energized nascent iodine.

Low TSH levels is a good thing as means that your brain is not requesting energy because it has enough energy, so its not sending the signal to the thyroid to request more energy.

    IODINE RECYCLING

When you are healthy your body can actually recycle iodine by energizing and re-energizing iodide into nascent iodine.

The thyroid has a way to attempt to recycle iodine by using the enzyme TPO (thyroid peroxidase) to create oxidative damage to re-energize iodide (unergized form of iodine) into nascent iodine that can be stored as organified iodine in thyroid hormones T4 or T3. To get iodide (I [which has one additional electron than nascent iodine I0]) into the thyroid it uses a sodium-iodide symporter which requires your blood to have some sodium in it to allow the iodide inside the thyroid. The blood normally has a higher potassium to sodium ratio and elevated sodium levels which many Americans have from too much sodium salt (sodium chloride) in their diet, and not enough potassium salt (potassium chloride) will cause the thyroid to attempt to use its iodine recycling mechanism to much and potentially damage itself from too much oxidative damage from TPO. This is not a problem under normal circumstances when you have plenty of anti-oxidants like vitamin C and glutathione, but in an energy starved situation and high toxin environment anti-oxidant stores are depleted, and the iodine recycling system can start pumping out oxidative damage and the thyroid can actually damage itself.

The thyroid has a way to attempt to recycle iodine but the pathway is easily disrupted by toxins and exacerbated by high sodium.

    IODINE BURN

Iodine like vitamin C is a daily nutrient. The body burns through iodine daily because every cell in the human body uses iodine for energy. In addition to being used for energy, iodine is used by the body as an alternative to oxygen that is burned for detox. Iodine flushes out halogens like fluoride by chemical similarity, and energized iodine loosens up heavy metals by stripping them of electrons so that they can be solubilized and eliminated. Iodine like oxygen can oxidize any element on the periodic table and is thus used by the body to eliminate any toxin. Iodine energy is used up not only to stimulated mitochondrial biogenesis to make massive amounts more ATP energy, but iodine is used to detox & monitor the integrity of mitochondrial membranes to keep energy flowing, or to destroy mitochondrial that are dysfunctional which is why iodine is also natively anti-cancer. Unenergized iodine, or energy depleted iodine after usage (iodide) is lost every day in the urine. Taking unenergized salt form of iodine (iodide) is much less effective than taking energized nascent iodine. Many people get their daily iodine from synthetic thyroid hormone drug, from natural desiccated thyroid hormone from animal, or from a health supplement like Lugol’s iodine which contains both molecular iodine and iodide. The most effective iodine is energized nascent iodine, and the best nascent iodine is NeuIodine which contains not iodide, and where nascent iodine is as effective in microgram doses to molecular and iodide forms in milligram doses, making dose ramping much more safe and effective with nascent iodine.

CALCIUM IS THE SECONDARY ENERGY SYSTEM OF THE THYROID

The secondary energy system of the thyroid uses calcium mineral nutrient for energy control.

The secret of the thyroid’s secondary energy system using calcium is that high calcium corresponds to high energy and low calcium corresponds to low energy.

And the big secret that it took me as a biochemist & biophysicist many years to to figure out is that the calcium levels are actually just a sensor for magnesium levels.” DrBenGo Healthwarrior

Low calcium corresponds to low energy which corresponds to low magnesium. The secret was noticing that each molecule of ATP energy produced in the body requires 1 molecule of magnesium ion to stabilize. The thyroid controls calcium in the blood to assess and predict and control the bone stores of phosphates and magnesium necessary for ATP energy production.

The thyroid uses both primary and secondary energy systems using iodine and calcium in tandem to control energy.

Many scientists have been confused for many years trying to figure out the connection between iodine and calcium energy, and I think I’m the first to figure it out making me possibly the world expert on thyroid physiology. The connection is that iodine energy is stored as T4. This is not commonly known as most doctors and scientists do not realize that iodine itself can be a storage molecule, and I only know because I’ve spent a decade studying iodine. The thyroid outputs 80% T4 and 20% T3 into the blood which circulate where the T4 energy molecule is available as an energy source for any tissue receiving blood supply. When tissues in the body need more energy, they get some immediately by converting T4 into T3 which sets off an energy amplification cascade as T3 itself signals for mitochondrial biogenesis to greatly amplify production of more ATP energy. The connection between iodine energy and calcium energy system is because the thyroid also modulates calcium levels where it interprets high calcium as high energy and low calcium as low energy. When energy levels are low (thyroid sees low T4 in blood) or when a lot of tissues at once are requesting iodine energy amplification cascade (thyroid sees elevated T3 levels in blood) then thyroid knows it’s going to need a lot of magnesium to stabilize all that ATP production. To facilitate the thyroid at parathyroid uses PTH (parathyroid hormone) to elevate calcium levels where PTH is the signal to the bones to release more calcium (and thus release more magnesium and phosphates for ATP production and stabilization). Each molecule of ATP produced requires an atom of magnesium to stabilize. So ultimately, the iodine energy system and the calcium system overlap at ATP energy. Whereas iodine can be used by the thyroid to store energy or to mobilize more ATP energy production, calcium levels are used by the thyroid make sure there are adequate magnesium and phosphates released from the bones to make and stabilize all that ATP energy.

Calcium is not an energy storage molecule, but it’s used by the thyroid to modulate energy anyway.

Calcium levels in the blood are “tasted” by the thyroid “tongue” to see if they are high or low. Ultimately calcium levels are indicative of bone stores of phosphates and magnesium which are used to make ATP. Each molecule of ATP requires one magnesium ion (Mg2+) to stabilize the phosphate bond energy of the ATP.

What the thyroid is really doing is using calcium as a secondary sensor to keep an eye on magnesium and phosphate levels in the bones and blood which can be used to make ATP energy molecule.

Calcium, though not an energy molecule itself, is used by the thyroid to control the ATP (phosphate bond) energy levels of the body.

High calcium levels are interpreted as the body has enough energy.

The thyroid can control calcium levels using the non-iodine thyroid hormone the peptide hormone called calcitonin. High calcium levels let the thyroid know that the body has plenty of energy. But if calcium levels get too high it signals cell death, so the thyroid uses calcitonin to keep keep calcium levels even in high energy situations from getting too high.

Low calcium levels are interpreted as the body is low energy, and is the signal to the thyroid to request more energy.

The thyroid is shaped like a butterfly where the “wings” of the thyroid are situated on top of arteries and veins in the neck to allow the part of it called the parathyroid to sense calcium levels in the blood. When the thyroid senses low calcium in the blood it interprets that to mean that the body is low energy. The thyroid will make more T4 and T3 to send energy out into the blood if it can, but if it’s low iodine (which will reflect in low T4, and low T3, and low T4/T3 ratio), then the thyroid will try to make more energy using the backup energy system which uses calcium.

The way the thyroid tries to make more energy using the calcium system is by using the non-iodine thyroid hormone called parathyroid hormone PTH.

The way PTH works is that it sends the signal to the bones to start dissolving which can cause osteoporosis so that the body can get more magnesium and phosphates stored in the bones to be used to make more ATP energy.

PTH ultimately elevates calcium levels, but what it’s really doing is dissolving bones to try to get more magnesium to solve an energy crisis. For more information read article Calcium: Thyroid & Osteoporosis.

Vitamin D is also important downstream in the PTH thyroid energy pathway as Vitamin D is involved in letting the kidney know to retain more calcium (magnesium is what it really wants) so that the magnesium can be used for energy stabilization of ATP. Writing the definitive article on Vitamin D nutrition was my crowning achievement in 2025 as calcium and vitamin D and how they related to iodine and thyroid function is not an easy topic.

    .

What you need to know in a nutshell is that just make sure you are getting your 100% vitamin D in your multivitamin, and then try to make more vitamin D from sunshine on your skin. The most important thing about vitamin D I discovered is that you need your daily vitamin C to make your Vitamin D work. Vitamin C keeps free iron in the body reduced for a hydroxylase enzyme that is required to activate Vitamin D which uses three different activations in the skin, the liver and the kidney where it then assists the kidney mitochondria in making more energy and retaining more calcium (and thus magnesium) needed for energy stabilization.

    THYROID HORMONES

The thyroid uses, energizes, and recycles iodine energy in the form of iodine containing thyroid hormones which is it sends out into the blood as energy reserves and signals to mobilize more energy. The thyroid listens to and responds to energy requests from the brain, and monitors and controls energy in the body by monitoring and modulating calcium levels. The brain requests more energy from the thyroid using a negative feedback loop using the brain hormone TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone). The thyroid puts more energy into the blood using iodine containing thyroid hormones T4 and T3 which contain energized iodine where T4 (thyroxine) is the energy storage molecule that contains 4 molecules of iodine, and T3 (tri-iodothreonine) is the activated thyroid hormone which is a signal to cells to mobilize and amplify more ATP (adenosine-tri-phosphate) energy via mitochondrial biogenesis. The thyroid and parathyroid also use two non-iodine containing hormones to regulate calcium levels in the blood which allow the thyroid to monitor and control body energy. Calcium levels are used by the thyroid to assess and control the body’s energy reserve supply of phosphates and magnesium in the bones which are needed to make and stabilize ATP energy. The two calcium regulating peptide hormones are PTH (parathyroid hormone) which makes calcium go up, and calcitonin which makes calcium go down.

The thyroid uses four hormones, two iodine containing ones (T4 & T3), and two which regulated calcium (PTH & calcitonin). When people first test their “thyroid hormone” they actually test the brain hormone TSH which is the signal from the brain to the thyroid requesting more energy. High TSH means low brain energy and if you then also test T4 and T3 you will note that T4 levels will be low (low energy), and ratio of T4/T3 will be low (low energy), T3 might also be low (low energy or high i.e. low energy but body is trying to elevate T3 to make more energy), and if you test PTH (not typically tested) you will see it’s high (meaning low energy, as PTH is the signal from the thyroid to body to dissolve bones to elevate calcium (to get more phosphates and magnesium for ATP energy).

    SUMMARY OF THYROID HORMONES

Thyroid uses four different hormones, two of which use iodine (T4 & T3) and two of which modulate calcium (PTH & calcitonin). But when people test their thyroid, they initially test for the brain hormone thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH).

T4, T3, PTH & calcitonin are the hormones the thyroid actually uses to modulate energy.

TSH is the hormone that the brain uses to request more energy from the thyroid.

SUMMARY OF HOW THE THYROID WORKS

The way the thyroid works is to balance energy needs of the head above the neck with energy needs of the body below the neck. The way it does that is by using primarily the iodine containing thyroid hormones to communicate with the brain for its energy needs versus using the calcium modulating thyroid hormones to communicate with the body for its energy needs.

THYROID PROBLEMS AND HOW TO FIX THEM

    GOITER

In the old days, the main thyroid problem was goiter (swollen thyroid) which was easily fixed in most cases by just adding iodine as iodide into the salt (iodized salt). Iodide is the unenergized form of iodine that the thyroid has to import using sodium and re-energize/recycle using TPO (thyroid peroxidase). Under normal circumstances getting iodine from iodide was not a problem, but when your thyroid is stressed out from toxins, the iodine recycling mechanism breaks down when your get low in anti-oxidants and you might need energized nascent iodine like NeuIodine (used in a system iMedDo detox system) to jumpstart your thyroid and then it will be able to process iodide again. As long as you are getting plenty of anti-oxidants like your daily vitamin C so that your iron and vitamin D will work, then your thyroid will be able to process iodide form again. Goiter is pretty rare these days but its incidence is increasing because of toxins. In most all cases fixing goiter is easy just get more energized nascent iodine. By using nascent iodine, the thyroid works less hard as doesn’t have to create oxidative damage from using TPO from iodide recycling giving it a chance to heal with inflammation and swelling going down and goiter going away.

    HYPOTHYROIDISM VERSUS HYPERTHYROIDISM

There are two thyroid problems “hypo” (low) versus “hyper” (high) thyroid known as hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. In part two I will explain how they are classified based on testing. There are also two special subtypes Hashimoto’s and Grave’s disease.

Hashimoto’s is a subtype of hypothyroidism, and Graves disease is a subtype of Hyperthyroidism. So really we have four different things to talk about:

    1. Hypothyroidism (basic).
    2. Hypothyroidism (fancy) Hashimoto’s
    3. Hyperthyroidism (basic).
    4. Hyperthyroidism (fancy) Grave’s Disease

All four types of hypo versus hyperthyroidism result in low energy.

Fancy thyroid problems Hashimoto’s and Graves on top of energy problems may have other things going on like toxicity, genetic and auto-immune problems and can be a little more tricky.

Hypothyroidism is typically associated with low iodine energy system of the thyroid whereas Hyperthyroidism is typically associated with dysfunction in the calcium energy system of the thyroid.

Many genetic and auto-immune problems are actually toxicity problems. Many people with fancy thyroid problems (Hashimoto’s and Graves) have other toxins (most commonly mercury heavy metal from dental amalgam) and need special attention.

    HYPOTHYROIDISM

Basic hypothyroidism is low energy from low iodine nutrition and is very easy to fix, just take more energized iodine.

There are four ways to get energized iodine:

    1. Synthetic thyroid hormone levothyroxine contains energized organified iodine. Synthetic thyroid hormone is a synthetic T4 and contains four molecules of iodine. When your thyroid is outputting low amounts of T4 into the blood, you can compensate by taking synthetic T4 daily.
    2. Natural Desiccated Thyroid (NDT) is premade thyroid hormone (T4 and T3) from pig thyroid. This is the most popular way for Christians Hamites of Germanic Carthagenian Egyptian ancestry. Some religious like Judaism and Islam won’t do NDT because of their religious restrictions on eating pork.
    3. Iodine from diet. Sea vegetables, high fat milk, liver.
    4. Iodine supplementation. There is a spectrum of iodine supplementation from iodide to Lugol’s to nascent iodine to the best which is nascent iodine used in a system.

Because of fluoride and other toxins in the food, air and water, it’s almost impossible to get enough iodine in the diet, and it’s estimate that 96% of Americans are iodine deficient. The result is a preponderance of basic hypothyroidism. Many people have subclinical hypothyroidism from low iodine and don’t even realize it. Mainstream medicine promotes #1 taking synthetic thyroid hormones whereas alternative medicine promotes getting iodine from natural sources (#2 or #3) or from iodine supplementation #4. People are so iodine deficient that now synthetic thyroid hormone is the second most commonly prescribed drug in the country. If you are a member of a religion without food restrictions like Christianity then NDT and liverwurst is an option for you. Mammals concentrate iodine in milk, and you will note that pregnant women craving ice cream (high fat milk) is an iodine nutrient craving. To avoid religious issues most people promote getting iodine in diet naturally from sea vegetables like seaweed. My favorite way to make sure I get enough iodine daily is from iodine supplementation. Note that iodide is not energized iodine, but if you take iodide and your iodine recycling system works where your thyroid is working normally and you have plenty of anti-oxidants, then your body can naturually re-energize iodide from diet or supplementation for making energized iodine. This can work for people with only subclinal or mild hypothyroidism, but for more advance or fancy hypothyroidism taking iodide is not a good idea as it can exacerbate thyroid inflammation from iodine recycling from iodide. Lugol’s solution is a popular way to supplement iodine which has been around since the mid-1800’s. Lugol’s is a combination of molecular iodine and iodide in water solvent. Lugol’s solution was improved over in the early 20th century with the invention of nascent iodine, and nascent iodine was improved upon in 2015 with the invention of the iMedDo Detox System which uses NeuIodine, NeuSilver & NeuGold in a system.

“I’m a nascent iodine expert, and my preference is to supplement energized nascent iodine directly in a system using NeuIodine, NeuSilver, and NeuGold.

If you don’t have thyroid disease, you can likely just supplement iodide, but by the time you already have hypothyroidism you increasingly cannot use the iodine recycling system, and need to get supplements without iodide. Lugol’s solution contains iodide, and Nascent iodine like NeuIodine does not. Nascent iodine is better than Lugol’s which is better than iodide for iodine supplementation.

NEUIODINE NASCENT IODINE IS GENERATIONS BEYOND LUGOL’S SOLUTION

NeuIodine nascent iodine used in the iMedDo detox system is many generations ahead of Lugol’s solution for the following seven reasons:

    1. Correct Form. Nascent iodine is energized molecular iodine in equilibrium with nascent iodine. Nascent iodine is effective in microgram doses that take milligram doses of Lugol’s to achieve.
    2. No Iodide. Unlike Lugol’s which contains iodide (molecular iodine and iodide in water solvent), Nascent iodine contains no iodide (energized molecular iodine no iodide in alcohol solvent).
    3. Correct Solvent: Molecular iodine is fat soluble not water soluble. In Lugol’s the iodide is used to force the solubility of the molecular iodine into water where it doesn’t want to be. In nascent iodine, energized molecular iodine in equilibrium with nascent iodine chemical species is fat soluble and stored in food grade alcohol solvent instead of water.
    4. Correct Usage Instructions: Because of the fat solubility of nascent iodine it can be absorbed on the skin bypassing old iodine usage instructions requiring it to be taken with food or on an empty stomach. Even people with religious restrictions against alcohol can still use NeuIodine as when put on skin the iodine absorbs and the alcohol evaporates away.
    5. Correct Dosing: Sex specific dosing for men and women. Men work up to 2 drops a day, women 4 and preganant and breastfeeding women 6 drops of NeuIodine with dose ramping staring at one drop (100% RDA) and increasing by 1 drop a week.
    6. Safety Features Built in for protection against Mercury. NeuIodine as a health supplement is intended for internal ingestion but because of its fat solubility it can be absorbed through the skin. Use by skin absorption is a critical safety feature for people with mercury dental amalgam fillings as putting iodine in the mouth is a bad idea as iodine detoxes mercury on contact and can detox mercury too fast causing herx reactions. By using NeuIodine it come with many additional safety features against heavy metal poisoning (correct usage, correct dosing) and most importantly used in a system.
    7. Use in a System with Silver & Gold. The most important difference between the iMedDo detox system which uses NeuIodine and other nascent iodine’s is that NeuIodine is used in a system with colloidal silver NeuSilver and colloidal gold NeuGold. Colloidal silver and gold are used for their anti-inflammatory properties of protecting the body and brain from toxins that the energized iodine flushes out allowing body to iodine replenish and detox simultaneiously and safely with maximum protection from heavy metals mercury and lead. Silver is the antidote to mercury and gold is the antidote to lead poisoning.

Taking unenergized iodine (iodide) form may or may not work depending on your toxin level, whereas taking nascent iodine used in a system with colloidal silver & gold (iMedDo detox system) will most always work as uses energized nascent iodine, dose ramping and detox.

Low energy from hypothyroidism typically equates to high TSH, and low T4, T3 and T4/T3 ratio and high PTH.

Just talking energized iodine will fix basic hypothyroidism (iodine deficiency) as will restore T4, T3, and T4/T3 ratio, and high TSH levels will go back down as brain no longer needs to request energy from the thyroid. PTH levels should go down too as the thyroid no longer needs to rely on the back up calcium energy pathway so much since the main iodine energy pathway is restored. If PTH levels don’t go down, also try taking magnesium so that your body can stabilize the ATP energy it is making now that you have more iodine for thyroid energy. Iodine like vitamin C is a daily nutrient. By taking NeuIodine, NeuSilver & NeuGold daily you can be in a constant state of topped off energy and in a constant state of detox.

    HASHIMOTO’S HYPOTHYROIDISM

Fancy hypothyroidism where there is also an auto-immune or genetic component to the low energy is called Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism.

If you have been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis it’s likely that you are already taking iodine in drug form using synthetic thyroid hormone like levothyroixine, but you still feel low energy and are trying to find something that will help.

What will not help with Hashimoto’s is taking iodide form of iodine.

What will help is if there is an underlying toxicity component to the Hashimoto’s then detox will help.

The way to detox is to supplement energized nascent iodine to bypass the inflammation generating iodine recycling pathway and to detox mercury and lead and other heavy metals which might be damaging the thyroid and exacerbating its low functioning.

Sometime auto-immune thyroid problems are caused by halogens like fluorine and bromine which can imitate iodine in thyroid hormones. The body will recognize the defective thyroid hormones where fluorine or bromine halogen is substituted for an iodine in T4 or T3 which contain 4 and 3 molecules of iodine respectively.

Low energy from hypothyroidism typically equates to high TSH, and low T4, T3 and T4/T3 ratio and high PTH

But with Hashimoto’s disease, it is said by mainstream medicine to be caused by autoimmune disease or genetic factors. If that is truly the case then there is no cure and you might have to accept a lifetime of managed treatment.

But oftentimes, the underlying cause is actually a toxin (like fluoride or mercury) or some type of infection (parasite, infection, mold, virus etc) in which case a cure is very possible once you detox.

In the case of fluoride or bromine halogen poisoning, it can mimic iodine where thyroid makes autoimmune response against faultily made T4 and T3 (were one of the four or three iodines might be replaced with a fluorine atom instead for example). Once you detox the halogens by getting more iodine, then the autoimmune response might go away and a cure possible.

The other most common cause of fancy hypothyroidism hashimoto’s is from mercury heavy metal poisoning.

Many people have thyroid problems simply from the mercury heavy metal in their neck which has leaked from their dental amalgam fillings. If you have mercury poisoning you need custom silver dosage, read this article on Mercury detox and contact me for assistance.

If you have mercury heavy metal poisoning or some kind of halogen or heavy metal as the underlying cause of the Hashimoto’s, a cure is possible with detox. If you have Hashimoto’s read article below & contact me first so we can discuss more what is right for you before using the iMedDo Detox System can schedule appointment for free phone call at link iMedDo.club/book.

    HYPERTHYROIDISM: CHECK YOUR CALCIUM SYSTEM

Both hypo and hyperthyroidism can cause symptoms of low energy, but when it’s hyperthyroidism it’s a little less straight forward as it might involve the calcium system rather than the iodine energy system.

Low energy from hyperthyroidism typically equates to low TSH (your brain is not requesting more energy with basic interpretation is that you have enough T4 energy storage molecule meaning you have enough iodine energy).

So if you have enough iodine energy why do you still feel so tired?

It’s most likely that there is a problem with the calcium side of the thyroid function where perhaps you have an energy stabilization problem, or it could be a nutritional deficiency (selenium, vitamin D, magnesium), or a toxicity issue (mercury, fluoride, vaccines), or could be something else (other auto-immune or genetic or pituitary tumor).

    1. Assuming your brain is working correctly, low TSH means your brain is not requesting energy i.e. it’s getting enough energy. But clearly it isn’t as you still feel tired! It could be your body feels tired because your secondary calcium based energy system is not working correctly. You might have elevated PTH (parathyroid hormone) with the thyroid trying to elevate calcium levels to get more energy from the calcium system which is most likely that you are either magnesium deficient or vitamin D deficient. Magnesium is needed to stabilize ATP energy. You iodine energy system might be working fine (low TSH, high T4 (lots of iodine energy reserves), good T4/T3 ratio), but your calcium system might be showing signs of stress (high PTH i.e. hyperthyroid in PTH (parathyroid hormone). Vitamin D works with PTH to help your body absorb more calcium and magnesium in the kidneys (your thyroid is trying to use the calcium system to get more magnesium). Thyroid tries to get it from the bones (might start causing osteoporosis as bones dissolve trying to get more magnesium) using elevated PTH. And body tries to use Vitamin D to help absorb more calcium and magnesium (it’s the magnesium it really wants) from the urine in the kidneys.

The solution is easy, your body just needs more magnesium. The key is to get chelated magnesium (magnesium glycinate or magnesium citrate), not magnesium oxide.

If you are craving chocolate that is also a sign you need more magnesium.

To learn more about how the backup calcium system works, and how vitamin D and C work together where ultimately it’s a magnesium energy stabilization problem read these:

    2. It could be a selenium deficiency. Selenium is used in an enzyme the converts T4 to T3. So even though it seems like you have enough iodine (high T4 iodine storage molecule), your tissues might still actually be starving for energy as they are unable to convert T4 to T3 to mobilize more energy as it requires a selenoprotein.

Selenium deficiency is exacerbated by Mercury heavy metal toxicity, so whether you have hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism be sure to check your mouth for mercury amalgam.

    3. Your brain could be lying to you. If your TSH levels are low (indicating your brain doesn’t want more energy), but you still feel tired, it could be a brain problem like a pituitary tumor. Maybe your brain does want energy but is failing to send the signal to your thyroid to ask for more energy. In this case you might not have a thyroid problem but rather a brain problem so seek further medical assistance. If you have already done testing (I don’t do testing), and want me to take a look and give you my religious advice on what’s going on then contact me iMedDo.club/book, I’m happy to help. You may or may not benefit from taking iodine (you don’t need it if your TSH levels are low and your brain is working fine), or your might need it if you have a brain tumor as iodine, silver and gold are a triple anti-cancer

    4. It could be an auto-immune or genetic thing not related to iodine or detox in which case seek mainstream medical assistance. Hyperthyroidism is treated in mainstream medicine by killing your thyroid via drugs or radiation or surgically removing it to give you Hypothyroidism instead where without a thyroid you will need to constantly take iodine in some form such as synthetic thyroid hormone (levothyroxine for pre-energized iodine) or as NDT (natural desiccated thyroid) for pre-energized iodine from animal (pig). At that point you can benefit from taking the iMedDo detox system for additional natural source of iodine but without a thyroid you use lower dose its for other tissues. For women especially, the breast tissue is similar to thyroid tissue and can benefit from getting energized nascent iodine even without a thyroid after thyroidectomy from hyperthyroidism.

    5. Fluoride Toxicity. If you have fluoride in your system it can shut down both sides of the thyroid energy system interfering with both iodine (iodine system) and with calcium (fluoride binds insolubly with calcium). The calcium disruption might explain the low energy in spite of low TSH levels commonly found with hyperthyroidism. Fluoride can also disrupt the kidneys resulting in low energy and a variety of other hormones as well.

    6. It could be vaccinosis (disease caused by vaccine). If you got a vaccine you likely have aluminum or mercury poisoning, and if you got covid vaccines or especially multiple covid vaccines, it could be much worse.

Unlike Hypothyroidism, Hyperthyroidism is a bit more tricky to figure out what is going on and you will like need assistance.

Detox might work especially if the underlying problem is a blockage in the calcium energy system from fluoride or aluminum or lead or other toxins. But oftentimes for hyperthyroidism you do not need more iodine and detox and instead need magnesium, vitamin D and vitamin C to make your vitamin D work. In the winter NeuGold colloidal gold is like liquid sunshine and will also help your vitamin D work. When your thyroid PTH and Vitamin D work together to increase your magnesium (getting magnesium from bones and readsorbing more magnesium from the kidneys), and when your kidney are not blocked by fluoride, your body can stabilize ATP energy it makes from iodine energy, and your hyperthyroidism might go away. But if it doesn’t get assistance. Worse case scenario you will have to let mainstream medicine kill and remove your thyroid and then take iodine in some premade thyroid form (synthetic thyroid hormone or NDT). If you need help and want to talk contact me iMedDo.club/book.

    HYPERTHYROIDISM: GRAVE’S DISEASE

Even the Thyroid Whisperer can’t fix Grave’s disease. Once your hyperthyroidism has advanced beyond a stage where detox or nutrient replenishment can hope to repair it, then you will likely need to have your thyroid removed and then be put on synthetic thyroid hormone treatment management. But once you do that then contact me and I can help with ongoing iodine nutrition and detox.

    THYROID CANCER

Iodine is natively anti-cancer so if you have thyroid cancer, the most likely scenarios are that you either ran out of iodine (iodine deficiency, will look like severe hypothyroidism), or that your thyroid has been overwhelmed with some pathogen which is oftentimes secondary to something obvious like mercury heavy metal poison from dental amalgam fillings.

iMedDo detox system with is a triple anti-cancer as all three nascent iodine, colloidal silver & colloidal gold are anti-cancer and DrBenGo Healthwarrior has two degrees from MD Anderson Cancer Center.

“Radiation and chemo depletes the body of energy and can even cause cancer; iodine on the other hand protects from radiation and cancer. Rather than the mainstream cut and burn approach, I approach cancer from a nutrient and energy replenishment standpoint. “ DrBenGo Healthwarrior

“I originally got into iodine nutrition as the cure for breast cancer.” DrBenGo Healthwarrior

“Iodine is uniquely amazing as it can both promote energy (mitochondrial biogenesis) and detect and destroy dysfunctional mitochondria (cancer).” DrBenGo Healthwarrior

“Iodine kills cancer by serving as an alternative final electron acceptor to oxygen on the mitochondrial electron transport chain where iodine can detect and energetically destroy cancer cells which have switched from aerobic to anerobic respiration. “ DrBenGo Healthwarrior

REVIEW OF VERY WELL THYROID MAGAZINE

I was at my local grocery store, and as I was checking out I saw this magazine about the thyroid. It’s a 96 page long compilation of 23 different articles which is a pretty good summary of the mainstream medicine position on the thyroid.

Because of the large number of articles in the magazine, with a wide variety of authors and different mainstream medical professionals (predominantlly MD type doctors) reviewing each article, I think we can all agree i.e. understand, that this magazine presents a pretty good idea of what mainstream medicine is saying to the public about the thyroid.

REVIEW OF VERY WELL UNDERSTANDING YOUR THYROID MAGAZINE

After reading the magazine, I give it 3.2/5 stars overall but only 2.5/5 stars for content/accuracy.

THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE UGLY

Marketing: 5/5 stars, Style Points: 5/5 stars, Content: 3/5 stars, Accuracy 2/5 stars, Demonic stuff 1/5 stars.

I think this magazine did a great job on marketing. I love the cover art enough that I bought it so it was definitely effective at catching my attention. Opening the cover I was pleasantly surprised by a very beautiful picture of the thyroid depicted as a jigg-saw puzzle. I really like this image as it’s exactly how I’ve been thinking about the thyroid & as the thyroid whisperer I’ve even figured out over half of those missing pieces.

As the Thyroid Whisperer, I find the missing puzzle pieces.

The magazine does a very good job identifying and marketing to its target audience women, as it gets across in the articles very well the reality of women having 4-10x more thyroid problems than men, and all the photos in the magazine are of women so I’m likely the only man who bought the magazine.

I like the style of the magazine how it attempts to present a large amount of different articles on a variety of topics with an attempt to provide medical reviewers for each article in hopes that the articles will be informative, diverse and accurate.

Unfortunately, the magazine failed as the content could have been better, and the accuracy on thyroid important topics of detox, modalities and nutrition fell flat ending in puff pieces on yoga and eating fiber by the end. The magazine started strong, turned into propaganda by the middle and by the end was just flat wrong. Also it was not just wrong but some of the stuff in the magazine was stealthily demonic, and for that I gave them low rating for some secret death contracts, death subliminal messaging and promotion of Luciferian radioactive iodine.

Overall though, the magazine was a combination of good and bad, and I was able to take the good and leave the bad and overall enjoyed the magazine so 3.2/5 stars is my final rating though for content accuracy I only give it a 2.5/5 stars.

    MAINSTREAM TESTING LEVELS VERY INFORMATIVE

The most informative and interesting thing in the magazine to me was a confirmation on how mainstream medicine uses tests to diagnose hypo versus hyperthyroidism.

    The first article says that:

    Hypothyroidism is associated with TSH > 4.0 mIU/L and T4 < 5.0 mIU/L

Hyperthyroidism is associated with TSH <0.4 mIU/L and T4 >11.0 mIU/L and blood levels of T3 may also be tested to confirm a diagnosis of hyperthyroidism if T3 >200 ng/dL,

and the fourth article Testing, Testing, Testing says:

TSH levels 4.5 to 10 mU/L = subclinical low thyroid function

TSH 10 mU/L or higher = symptomatic low thyroid function

TSH 0.1 to 0.4 mU/L = subclinical overactive thyroid function

TSH 0.1 to mU/L and lower = symptomatic overactive thyroid function.

    and also says:

Normal TSH + normal T4 = normal thyroid function

High TSH + normal T4 = you may have higher risk of developing an underactive thyroid

Low TSH + high T4 = overactive thyroid

High TSH + low T4 = underactive thyroid

Low TSH + low T4 = low thyroid function due to another problem, such as pituitary gland dysfunction Looking at TSH alongside T3 test results can also help with diagnosis:

Low T3 + high TSH = low thyroid

High T3 + low TSH = overactive thyroid

TPOAb tests [thyroid peroxidase antibody tests] can help confirm Hashimoto’s disease [special hyopthyroidism] if TSH is high and T4 is low.

TRAb tests [TSH receptor antibody] help diagnose Grave’s disease, confirm a diagnosis of toxic multinodular goiter, or, in late pregnancy, check a baby’ls risk of Grave’s disease or an overactive thyroid.

The missing puzzle piece is when people test their “thyroid hormone” they are usually first testing TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) which is actually a brain hormone. Once you realize that TSH is how the brain requests energy from the thyroid then it makes sense that high TSH means low energy (brain is requesting more energy), and low TSH means abundant energy (brain is not requesting more energy).

With that in mind, looking at these thyroid test levels gets a lot easier where you just have to identify where is high TSH, where is low TSH and where is normal TSH. The magazine first article is saying that high TSH/low energy/hypothyroidism is at TSH>4 miU/L and that low TSH/too much energy/hyperthyroidism is at TSH<0.4 miU/L. This implies that the normal range of TSH is somewhere between 0.4 to 4 miU/L. But the testing article which uses units mU/L (which is same I assume as miU/L) clarifies that they consider

TSH 10 mU/L or higher = symptomatic low thyroid function

    i.e. TSH > 10 mU/L = hypothyroidism (not TSH > 4 miU/L).

TSH 0.1 to mU/L and lower = symptomatic overactive thyroid function.

    i.e. TSH<0.1 = hyperthyroidism

Which implies that TSH normal range is somewhere between 0.1 to 10 mU/L which is a much wider range than the first article 0.4 to 4 mIU/L (assuming mIU/L[milli-international units per Liter] = mU/L [milliunits per Liter])

What I like is that the testing testing testing article establishes a range for subclinical hypothyroidism as these people even though they don’t even technically have a thyroid problem can all still benefit from iodine supplementation and detox.

TSH levels 4.5 to 10 mU/L = subclinical low thyroid function

People are being told conflicting information. On one hand that when your TSH is 0.1 to 10 mU/L you are in the normal range, or more narrow 0.4-4 is normal range, but on the other hand when you are 4.5 to 10 you are in the subclinical low thyroid function. Putting together this conflicting information TSH 0.1-10 is normal, but within that normal 0.4 to 4 is normal normal, and TSH 4.5 to 10 is subclinical hypothyroidism.

Mainstream medicine is saying in a very squirrelly way that when your TSH is 4-10 or at least 4.5-10 that even though you are normal that you might be at higher risk of hypothyroidsim. This slightly elevated TSH level just means your brain is within its normal parameters of asking the thyroid for more energy.

Translating what I learned about testing from the magazine here’s my recommendations on nascent iodine supplementation:

People with TSH <0.1 mU/L (hyperthyroidism) should not supplement nascent iodine.

People with TSH 0.1-0.4 mU/L (less severe hyperthyroidism) should not supplement nascent iodine without supervision especially if is Grave’s disease.

People with TSH 0.4 to 4 (normal range) can supplement nascent iodine no problem if they want.

People with TSH 4-10 mU/L “Subclinical low thyroid function” can all benefit from nascent iodine supplementation with the iMedDo detox system.

People with TSH >10 (hypothyroidism) can very likely benefit from nascent iodine supplementation but should do so with supervision especially if is Hashimoto’s.

WHAT MAINSTREAM DOCTORS ARE FAILING TO SAY (THE MISSING PUZZLE PIECES)

    Having read all the articles, what was the most interesting to me was what not just what they are saying, but what they are NOT saying. The three most important things about the thyroid that were not mentioned even a single time in ANY of the above articles are;

    1. MERCURY: The importance of Detox in particular the importance of Mercury heavy metal detox from amalgam fillings. Mercury leaks from fillings into the thyroid in the neck and causes a large amount of thyroid disease.
    2. PTH: The importance of Parathyroid Hormone (PTH) and how it ties in to calcium, magnesium, osteoporosis, and energy and cancer via thyroid function.
    3. VITAMIN C: Vitamin C was not mentioned in the entire magazine in spite of having articles on diet. Vitamin C is critical to keep iron reduced to keep vitamin D activated. The importance of Vitamin D was mentioned begrudgingly toward the end of the magazine. Where vitamin D is known to make many thyroid problems just go away.
    4. VACCINOSIS: Thyroid disease caused by vaccines was not mentioned even once in the entire magazine in spite of many people suffering from thyroid disease caused by vaccine damage.

Fortunately, alternative medicine thanks to DrBenGo Healthwarrior the Thyroid Whisperer has your back, and these articles are the critical missing pieces of the thyroid jiggsaw puzzle that people have been searching for that you may all know the truth and the truth set you free:

WHAT MAINSTREAM DOCTORS ARE SAYING VERY POORLY (HIDING KNOWN PUZZLE PIECES)

The most relevant part of the magazine in my opinion was buried deep in the back on page 71 of 96 in the article 18: (What Are the Treatments for Thyroid Disease by Mary Shomon medically reviewed by Danielle Weiss MD) which said:

“Some holistic healthcare providers recommend iodine supplementation, other nutritional supplements, dietary changes, and particular yoga poses. “

“Some holistic healthcare providers recommend iodine supplementation … “

That’s correct information. I recommend iodine supplementation done correctly to fix thyroid problems. Iodine done right is nascent iodine used with colloidal silver & colloidal gold i.e. NeuIodine, NeuSilver, NeuGold the health Trinity of the iMedDo detox system. These three minerals are now minerals A1, A2, A3 (Aurum, Argentum & Iodine) in the new combined Vitamin & Mineral Alphabet.

“Some holistic healthcare providers recommend iodine supplementation, other nutritional supplements …

That’s correct information . There are other nutritional supplements that help with thyroid health a lot. Most notably magnesium and daily vitamin C with vitamin D done right. Vitamin D done right uses daily vitamin C to activate where you don’t supplement more than 100% D with vitamins but rather get the rest with sunlight.

It’s was very interesting to me to see the shady way the magazine treated Vitamin C, where the importance of Vitamin C for thyroid health was not mentioned even once in the entire magazine.

TOUCHING THE MAGAZINE CAN ACTUALY CAUSE THYROID DISEASE

As I finally got to the part of the magazine all the way in on page 71 finally recommending some good advice to get some iodine supplementation, I could actually feel my fingers tingling from the chemicals in the magazine paper. And I thought to myself, what an evil magazine. The people who need this information the most, by the time they actually find it over 70 pages in will have absorbed enough toxins from touching this magazine to potentially give themselves thyroid disease. How much you want to bet that this magazine paper is coated in brominated flame retardants where the bromine halogen is absorbing into my skin, and is actually known to cause thyroid problems by disrupting iodine. I’m not scared of bromine because I detox halogens daily with NeuIodine, but for everyone else I recommend you wear gloves while reading magazines as you don’t realize what sort of endocrine disrupters you are touching. (This magazine feels like bromine, and PET plastic possibly with BPA). To confirm I placed a drop of NeuIodine on the paper to confirm it was coating in some sort of plastic. Nascent iodine turns uncoated paper purple, but the iodine just sat on top with no color change confirming that the magazine has a plastic coating. Then I burned the last page of the magazine to see if it burned slow and green to confirm the presence of brominated flame retardants on the pages which it did.

The magazine was coating in plastic possibly PET and brominated flame retardant.

To learn more about PET plastic detox read this article on microplastics detox.

THE VERY BEST OF MAINSTREAM MEDICINE IS SUBPAR ESPECIALLY ON FLUORIDE

The very best article in the entire magazine was almost at the very end, article 19 (Keeping Your Thyroid Healthy by Mary Shomon medically reviewed by Kelly Wood MD). The reason I say it was the best was because it was the only article in the entire magazine to mention fluoride. Even if what it said about fluoride was incorrect at least it made a mention.

On page 76, Consider Fluoride’s Role “Some research suggests that peole living in areas with fluoridated drinking water are at a higher risk of developing hypothyroidism. Other research has not shown this. Until this link has been established, health officials do not recommend avoiding fluoride, as its health benefits outweigh its risks.”

The first sentence is correct. “Some research suggests that peole living in areas with fluoridated drinking water are at a higher risk of developing hypothyroidism.”

You are darn right people getting fluoride are at higher risk for hypothyroidism! That’s because fluoride disrupts both sides of thyroid function shutting down both iodine mineral by halogen mimicry, and also shutting down the calcium/vitaminD side of thyroid function since fluoride binds insolubly with calcium. The health problems with fluoride go far beyond just disrupting your thyroid, it disrupts your entire body as we rely on over 16,000+ calcium ion pathways all of which get disrupted with fluoride poisoning. Fluoride is bad news. Fluoride is anti-organic chemistry which turns your hydrocarbons into fluorocarbons.

But then the magazine puts on its mainstream medicine clown hat to say the following:

“Other research has not shown this. Until this link has been established, health officials do not recommend avoiding fluoride, as its health benefits outweigh its risks.”

What a joke and a lie. What health officials? I voted for RFKJr the new head of the US Department of Health and Human Services, the top “health official” on his platform that he was supposed to remove all fluoride from the drinking water by January 2025. It’s November 2025 now, and though he’s still working to get it done, fluoride is on the way out. I’m willing to tell you point blank with 100% certainty that in my scientific opinion as a biochemist in the American Chemical Society Fluorine Division, an expert on fluoride detox and iodine nutrition, that the link between fluoride and thyroid disease especially hypothyoidism will be firmly established in the near future. It already has been, it’s just being covered up. The cover up is goes hand in hand with the mercury heavy metal coverup, as both fluoride and mercury were used by the dentists for many years, and there is still a widespread silent epidemic of people with thyroid problems solely because they have mercury heavy metal poisoning in their neck leaked from their teeth that needs to be detoxed.

Even with this un-enlighted statement on fluoride the article is still pretty good because it’s the only article in the magazine to make any attempt to talk about the most important topic which is different forms of iodine, and has a nice little section talking about how potassium iodide was used to prevent radiation damage. The issue of understanding different forms of iodine and which form to use when is the most critical and important information to understand about thyroid health, and I’ll be discussing that in much more detail later in this article. Most people are several generations behind still talking about potassium iodide and lugols instead of talking about nascent iodine used in a system with silver and gold.

The article gets kudos for mentioning perchlorates another important halogen toxin that contains chlorine which can interfere with iodine.

The article also gets kudos for mentioning the importance of vitamin D even if it doesn’t really explain the significance as related to calcium and parathyroid hormone, osteoporosis and magnesium with vitamin C. (Neither PTH parathyroid hormone, nor Vitamin C was mentioned in the entire magazine). Come to think of if the magazine never once mentioned magnesium either! The nutrition article was very lacking. It’s clear they either don’t understand or are purposefully covering up the most important issues relevant to thyroid health. Even with an almost 100 page magazine about the thyroid, having read it, mainstream medicine approach to thyroid health is subpar.

THE WORST OF THE MAGAZINE: SHAMELESSLY PROMOTING RADIOACTIVE IODINE

The worst part of the magazine, which I take as the worst part of mainstream medicine when it comes to thyroid health, is how the magazine was shamelessly promoting the use of radioactive iodine to treat thyroid cancer which I adamantly disagree with. The key to thyroid health is giving your thyroid regular iodine which is natively and naturally anti-cancer, not killing your thyroid with radioactive iodine. The articles which were found to be promoting radio-iodine nonsense were:

    10. Surprising Facts About Thyroid Cancer by Christine Coppa medically reviewed by Archana Sharma DO FAAP

    11. How Sofia Vergara Beat Thyroid Cancer by Jennifer KIzer medically reviewed by Doru Paul MD

    13. Facts About Goiter by Lindsay Curtis medically reviewed by Do-Eun Lee MD

What Are the Treatments for Thyroid Disease by Mary Shomon medically reviewed by Danielle Weiss MD

“I see some of my colleagues from MD Anderson Cancer Center are treating thyroid cancer with radioactive iodine. I would never recommend doing that as regular iodine is already natively anti-cancer, and if you do ever get radioactive iodine, you need to detox it with regular iodine afterwards.” DrBenGo Healthwarrior

WHERE MAINSTREAM DOCTORS ARE OUTRIGHT LYING TO YOU VIA CONTRACT

A lie is not a lie if you agree to it. If we both agree that the sky is purple, then for the purpose of a contract the sky is purple even though it is obviously a lie as the sky is blue. Not everyone realizes (real eyes) it, but the word “understanding” is used in contract law including demonic contracts to mean “agreement”. So note that the title of the mainstream medicine propaganda magazine “Understanding Your Thyroid” implies that they want YOUR AGREEMENT to some CONTRACT concerning the THYROID. The thyroid looks like a butterfly which Greek word Psyche also means Soul which I discussed in depth in my very first article the thyroid way back in 2018: Thyroid Quickening. They want a demonic soul contract with you. Don’t understand/agree to it!

    LOCATING THE DEMONIC SOUL CONTRACT

The agreement lie can be found on page 23 of the magazine in the article number five: (Autoimmune Disease in Women and Men by MIchelle Pugle medically reviewed by Do-Eun Lee, MD) where it is highlighted and reads as:

“While treatment cannot cure an autoimmune disease, it can help reduce the risk of symptom flare-ups. The exact treatment plan depends on the condition.”

The contract that mainstream medicine wants you to agree to is that “there is no cure for your thyroid”.

The nested lie they want to sell you is to think that most all thyroid disease is from either some un-curable auto-immune issue or some un-curable genetic issue.

The most important thing they don’t want you to know about is that many supposed auto-immune and genetic problems are just underlying toxicity problems, and when you detox the underlying problem (typically halogen like fluoride or heavy metal like mercury or lead poisoning) that it is possibly to find a cure. You don’t have to agree that no cure exists. Take Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism for example, promoted as an uncurable autoimmune by mainstream medicine, oftentimes is a simple curable toxicity detox & nutrient replenishment problem.

They want you to agree to the lie to make it not a lie for the purpose of contract, by getting your agreement that you won’t even try to look for a cure, and you accept that they are not even trying to look for a cure.

Instead of seek a cure, they want you to agree to accept a lifetime of suffering to go down a dark journey which will end with your thyroid removed, and you on a lifetime of synthetic thyroid hormone drug treatment becoming their lifetime cash cow.

DRBENGO’S SUMMARY OF THE MAINSTREAM MEDICINE APPROACH TO THE THYROID

    1. Don’t even try to cure the thyroid. Instead focus on scaring you into spending your money on testing.
    2. Diagnose you with something (it doesn’t matter what as the final treatment ends up being ultimately the same i.e. synthetic drugs).
    3. Destroy your thyroid by any means necessary (drugs, surgery, a particularly evil option of radioactive iodine was promoted extensively in this magazine).
    4. Give you lifetime synthetic thyroid hormone.

It’s not hard for me to “understand” what mainstream medicine is doing for thyroid as it can be summarized into only two options:

    A) If you are hypothyroid you get the synthethic drugs.

    B) If you are hyperthyroid, destroy the thyroid to make you hypothyroid to get you on synthetic drugs.

Which really as you can see is only one option which is to get you on synthetic thyroid drugs.

Mainstream medicine is a money funnel that results in lots of cash for them, and no cure for you, your money spent on testing, your money spent on surgery or radiation with thyroid removed, and locked into a lifetime of thyroid hormone drugs.

    CURSE RELIGION

The difference between curSe and cure is the snake of wisdom.

Mainstream medicine no longer seeks to find cures, and has no interest whatsoever of ever curing you of any thyroid disease. In fact, they are incentivised to destroy your thyroid on purpose as it generates much business for them selling synthetic thyroid hormones. Their religion has become a curse upon women where the snake venom of vaccines, fluoride and mercury poisoning are being used for evil.

    CURE RELIGION

iMedDo Foundation is a church auxiliary of iMedDo self supported ministry i.e. iMedDo is a church and our church believes in medical Freedom. Even when a cure is not known to humans, we know that God knows the cure. I will never give up trying to cure thyroid diseases, and I do not accept or agree to the idea that there is no cure. Many thyroid diseases already can be cured when it is from nutritional deficiency or toxin.

And when the Great Serpent attempted to attack my thyroid using snake venom, I felt my thyroid transform into a dog of war, the Battle Angel Michael in Jesus form as the lamb of God who hunts wolves and spears dragons with a flaming sword:

“Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.” Matthew 10:16

    NASCENT “BORN AGAIN” IODINE

The word nascent is from the Latin verb (nascor nascare nasci natum) which means to be born. The religious meaning of nascent iodine means “born again” iodine where the concept of being born again comes from ancient egypt where the sun was continually reborn after each night and the human soul was believed to be reborn in similar fashion. In chemistry the word nascent also means “newly born” and refers to the equilibrium of how energized molecular iodine (diatomic iodine) I2 breaks apart forming two “newly born” atoms of atomic iodine I (i.e. two atoms of nascent iodine). Although molecular iodine does this naturally to a small extent, energized molecular iodine does it to a larger extent with equilibrium shifted towards the nascent iodine enough that it can be detected. Originally, the process of how to energize molecular iodine to make nascent iodine was dreamed up by the psychic Edgar Cayce which is why even today nascent iodine is considered “Psychic Iodine”. The process of how to energize molecular iodine for mass production was patented by Magnascent Division of Shield Bearer Inc where I worked as head iodine research scientist back in 2015 where I developed the spectroscopic process for how to detect nascent iodine in a non-psychic way in 2016 where you can read my paper here:

Goins AB. Spectroscopic assessment of magnascent® iodine. J Cancer Prev Curr Res. 2016;6(1):402-405.

*Back then was iMedDo Inc a Texas company I formed to try to provide iodine education for breast cancer awareness. Since 2021 that all things iMedDo are now part of iMedDo Foundation which is a church which educates and spread on topics of medical Freedom like detox and nutrition. Also note I’m in Georgia now not Texas. You can contact me at link iMedDo.club/book or send me or the church (if mailing the church anything official address it to Board of iMedDo Foundation) mail to:

iMedDo Foundation 288 Valley Estates Dr Trenton, GA 30752 , or email me at healthwarrior@imeddo.club www.iMedDo.club (www.iMedDo.com and healthwarrior@imeddo.com also work).

NeuIodine health supplement in the iMedDo detox system is nascent iodine. Nascent iodine in a health supplement refers to energized molecular iodine in equilibrium with nascent iodine in alcohol solvent. This is different than Lugol’s solution which is molecular iodine and iodide unenergized form of iodine in water.

Back in 2015 I invented the iMedDo detox system which was a novel upgrade on how to bottle and use nascent iodine in a system with colloidal silver and gold. I learned about the importance of colloidal silver and gold from DrCalin Pop MD who I met a CEO Space where I obtained a certificate in entrepreneurship. Back then I sold nascent iodine now since 2021, I only offer it as gift for donation via my church iMedDo Foundation. iMedDo Foundation is a 501c tax exempt organization. A private unincorporated church (508c1a).

The process of going from a scientist to an entrepreneur to going to psychic fairs with psychic iodine to going to church has been quite the journey. It’s been the combination of both science and spirituality that has allowed me to make such advancements in iodine and thus thyroid and breast cancer health.

GET THE BEST NASCENT IODINE AS GIFT FOR DONATION FROM IMEDDO FOUNDATION

“I invented the iMedDo detox system which uses the highest quality nascent iodine NeuIodine in a system with NeuSilver colloidal silver & NeuGold colloidal gold for optimal health effect. The iodine is dose ramped to avoid herx reactions from toxins flushed out while silver and gold anti-inflammatories protect the body and brain.” DrBenGo Healthwarrior

APPENDIX: APPEARANCE OF THE ARCHANGEL MICHAEL

There was something demonic about the verywell magazine. From the way it tried to trick you into a soul contract, to the way it was promoting Luciferian radioactive iodine for thyroid destruction, even to the way it sinisterly and subliminally was using death magic by promoting a yoga “corpse”pose, to the way it actually poisoned your thyroid in real time as you touched its pages. The author’s name that stood out for the most evil article with the soul contract was “Michelle Pugle” which sounds like a pen name for Pugilist against Michael (Fighter agains Michael) i.e. Lucifer. The evil aura of this magazine drew my attention, and I felt compelled to fight against it and while writing this article I received the blessing of the Archangel Michael who showed up to meet the devil’s challenge:

Archangel Michael Appearance to DrBenGo Healthwarrior the Thyroid Whisperer

As I imagine my thyroid not just as my guardian angel but as the Archangel Michael, the commander of God’s armies, I note that the serpent the angel is spearing is a reference to the male penis. The idea is the thyroid using TSH is prioritizing energy to the brain above the neck rather than to a man’s nether regions.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God” 1 Corinthians 6:19-2

The thyroid itself like an angel is neither masculine nor feminine but when you attach a body it becomes one or the other. Because I’m a male writing this article the angel appeared to me in masculine form as Michael not Michelle.

    MOCK BATTLE OF THE SEXES

What happened next was very strange and celtic in nature, and I’ll explain it as best as I can. I got stuck for many days on the section “sex specific differences of the thyroid”.

I approached the thyroid as a man fighting for women to figure out why women have 7x more thyroid problems than men.

In doing so I accidentally stumbled upon some sacred dragon knowledge which stirred up some really strange ancient battle of the sexes.

The male form angel Michael showed up to fight on team Goddess in attack formation to obtain the secrets of EVE’s thyroid.

A female form of angel Michelle showed up to fight on team Dragon to protect both the male and female secrets of the thyroid (ADAM & EVE).

All the Angels and Demons joined team Dragon in defensive formation for a mock battle to protect the secrets of the thyroid except for one.

The Angel who didn’t was a crafty one who was wise as a serpent but was not a serpent, she was not on team Dragon, she was as innocent as a dove, and like a hunter in flying lamb as an attack ram had come to raid the secrets of EVE from the defensive team. Her masculine name is Gabriel, her female name is Gabrielle, and she has appeared to me in the past as the Elf Queen Galadriel, who I was able to identify as Vivianne (Live Anne) but she wears black like Morgue Anne (Morganna dead Anne), who fights like a man. I recognized her as Gamaliel the destroyer of Sodom. She likes to dress as Alita Battle-angel, and I recognized her last month in the coverart of vitamin K. She beat the game of On, is the sole victor against Athena and recovered the flaming sword and helmet of the angel Michael and was reborn as Michael. Fighting on team Goddess as in masculine form as the archangel Michael I couldn’t even recognize her as she looked like Jesus and was my very own thyroid guardian angel. Not in defensive formation but in attack formation. EVE asked me to share some of her secrets, but all the angels and demon guardians of Adam and Eve came to defend those secrets.

As the battle was going on I couldn’t really tell which team I was on. The tides of battle shifted and Angel/Demon Male/Female sides were very fluid as the battle raged. The masculine was attacking to protect the feminine. The feminine was defending to attack the masculine. What I can tell you is that Athena a female battle angel who is normally on my team for the purposes of the mock battle was on the other side. Athena against you becomes a rather terrifying spider. Athena of all the angels on the opposing side was the only one really capable of putting up a real defense.

Athena though in defensive formation performed a flawless pre-emptive strike. While Gabriel as Michael was in butterfly form Athena turned into a massive spider and caught Gabriel in a web. Gabriel then sacrificed Michael who dropped his shield and helmet in the center of the web psyching out Athena who thought she had caught Lucifer. Then Gabriel as Gamaliel snuck back into the center of the web as a dungeon crawler in complete darkness and recovered Michael’s flaming sword and golden helm. Athena once again trapped the archangel when tried to fly away in the web then Gabriel turned into a dove and ate the spider. With Athena vanquished, Gabriel put on the golden helm and raised the flaming sword in doing so becoming Michael resurrected and burnt away the web making the path clear. The path was the Game of Ra (Gammorah). The battle raged on all the way to Halloween culminating in a final showdown between a cat and a giant preying mantis. Michael in male cat form fighting for team female (Cat Bastet) fought to a stalemate with Athena who chose final form of a giant preying/praying mantis female. The result of the mock battle was a stalemate with both team male for female & team female for male fighting admirably and a truce.

ANGELIC TRUCE & DRAGON SECRETS OF ADAM & EVE

THE SACRED MASCULINE SECRETS OF ADAM: SERPENT IDENTITY

The dragon secrets of Adam were released. They were guarded by Michael who actually fell in battle with Athena and was resurrected by Gabrielle.

The Archangel Michael is the representation of the sacred masculine which is viewed as the brain using the thyroid to conquer body (serpent/snake/penis).

Thyroid imagined as the Angel Michael wielding a flaming tongue of fire the helmed dove of the Holy Spirit is the Brain getting priority over the nether regions. The snake is affirmatively identified as the man’s penis. The idea is that the thyroid allows a man to conquer their penis their sexual urges by diverting more energy to the brain (helm). The snake of a man’s penis is identified with Satan. Michael in Jesus form conquering the serpent is a reflection of man’s conquering their sexual urges. Michael represents the brute force approach to conquering the urges (brain sending signals to thyroid with TSH), whereas Jesus represents a different approach for conquering the serpent (sanctifying rather than killing the serpent by only releasing it inside Holy Matrimony).

Thus the concept of the sacred masculine is a man who conquers his “snake” between his legs and uses his brain, and the thyroid is the guardian angel that makes it happen. A man as thyroid guardian angel who conquers his own penis/snake and is using only his head/helmet rather than his body is a rather effeminate figure. Much like Odin of Germanic religion possible namesake of Iodine (Eye of Odin) with reference to the Aegisjalmur the Eye Shield Helmet (Eye Aegis/Shild Hjalmur/Helmet). The legends say Odin was somehow “unmanly” and able to touch saidar (the female magic). Saidin/Satan the masculine magic is penis magic but its not considered sacred, the sacred masculine is conquering Satan/body/penis/ i.e. which for a man is conquering the urges of the penis between your legs.

THE SACRED FEMININE SECRETS OF EVE: SERPENT IDENTITY

The dragon secrets of EVE were also released after quite a showdown. It wan’t a battle between good and evil so much as it was a mock battle of the sexes between myself as man wanting to reveal female secrets to help women, and women guardian angels wanting to protect the secrets out of formality to defend the sacred feminine from male intrusion. Since I’m approaching EVE as for healing as a doctor, I’m allowed inside to see the female secrets where normally it would be death for a man to tread.

Though the thyroid of a man and woman may look the same, one attached to a body it becomes very different. They thyroid may be a genderless Guardian Angel but because it defends your body which is either male or female it gets its own gender and male thyroids do not behave anything like female thyroids like how Michael does not fight like Michelle. I saw battle techniques from both male and female side which blew my mind in the mock battle where both sides showed their mastery of the battle techniques of the other.

The serpent (snake) to serpent with legs (lizard/croc/alligator) to serpent with legs and wings (Dragon) is an ancient representation of the spiritual journey of mankind. I first noticed this from ancient Egypt, but I now see it came from the ante-diluvian cult of Lily.

Lily, the original EVE is/was a beautiful flower goddess of fertility. Here entire body was the tree of life, and her entire body was the dragon.

Her thyroid was the wings of the dragon and her head was the dragon head, and body the dragon body.

The serpents are not the same for men and women. For men the serpent to conquer is their own penis. For women the serpent is their own entire body (head (dragon head), wings (thyroid), and body (dragon body).

Lily is both a tree and a dragon, and she (not Adam) has the apples of immortality.

Even though the cult of Lily is lost, and survives now only in demonized form, traces of it can be found in Mesopotamian, Abrahamic, Egyptian, Greek, Norse and Christian religions indicating its profound antiquity. After the mock battle of the sexes I was granted one single secret which is the Minoan way of seeing the thyroid as a golden axe the labrys.

Egyptian: The Dragon is a symbol of an enlightened human where serpent to serpent with legs and serpent with legs and wings (dragon) represents the spiritual progression of mankind. The wings of the dragon are the thyroid anatomy, and thus likely the dragon was originally a female dragon from the cult of Lily.

Mesopotamian: In the Epic of Gilgamesh Lili as Lilit is portrayed a female demon in a tree along with a serpent that cannot be charmed and an “Anzu” bird.

Abrahamic Judean: Lily as Lilith is portrayed as Adams first wife now demonized as a bird demon.

Greek: Lily is Medusa who originally very beautiful was cursed by Athena to now being ugly with snakes in hair. I think the most details of Lily are preserved in the Greek story of Medusa where she appears to have a very complex theology that also involves decapitation, blood, pegasus, and Chrysaor the giant with a golden sword.

Norse: Yggdrasil the world tree literally means “Egg Dragon” i.e Ygg=Egg Drasil =Dragon. I figured out that the “dragon eggs” are referring to the female ovary anatomy where the woman herself is the Dragon which points to origins in the cult of Lily.

Eve is the “Tree of Life”. Her Apples of Immortality are found in her Sacrum, the “Sacred Garden”.

What religion lost, you can still see in the female anatomy. The idea of a lady with dragon eggs is still popular even in modern culture like the tv show Game of Thrones.

Daenerys Targaryen the Mother of Dragons from Game of Thrones

The Woman herself is the Dragon in the more ancient religion the cult of Lily. This is the female way.

*If we accept that Eve’s sacrum is the garden of Eden, then the serpent in the garden is clearly the man’s penis trying to get up that vagina. Then the underpinning that the Biblical story was based on start to make more sense.

*There appears to be a an ancient morality lesson in the garden of Eden story which likely is about it’s only okay for a man to enter a woman’s garden in marriage with her consent as opposed to evil which is entering a woman’s garden without her consent (rape).

This explains why most religions like Christianity focus so much on no sex before marriage, as in ancient times the marriage contract was the “consent” required for entering the garden.

The woman as Dragon is not the same as the serpent of the Bible! The Dragon is the woman herself the sign of a mature and spiritually advanced woman, whereas the serpent in the garden associated with the devil is referring to the man’s male anatomy.

When Jesus says to be “as wise as a serpent” he is referring to be as wise as a woman! Not be as wise as a penis! Women as “wise women” have always been renowned for their wisdom whereas the men thinking with their penis is pretty much the opposite of wisdom.

To the Greeks the Goddess of Wisdom was Athena.

Athena is interesting because she might be a thyroid guardian angel but she’s also rather masculine and protects the serpent (male anatomy) as defender of the king as a serpent.

Athena might be a backlash against the cult of Zeus where in one story Athena shows up and chops Zeus’s head off. It’s clear Athena was created after the cult of Lily and this axe chopping story likely was related to or borrowed from earlier Minoan depictions of the Goddess. The idea of an armed Goddess like Athena or Inanna instead of an innocent tree nymph Lily later demonized as Lilith appears to be very ancient as Inanna was in Epic of Gilgamesh and the double bladed axe as a symbol for female power the labrys is quite possibly the oldest known symbol of woman.

The Greek story of Medusa and Pegasus and Chrysaor the Giant with Golden sword springing from her blood connects with Christianity.

What people today don’t recognize is that Jesus and early Christianity was so popular and spread so quickly in Hellenic Greco-Roman culture because it was actually a women’s liberation religion and had snake woman aspects. Jesus by exorcising Mary Magdalene and marrying her was purifying the ancient Goddess religion of EVE and thus was viewed as liberating all women.

BYB (Byblos) looks like EVE. Temple of Eve (Aphrodite/Venus)

EVE is the Lady of Byblos, the Lady of the Bible. In Byblos, Lebanon in the levant the cults of the Egyptian Goddess Hathor from the old testament and a Syrian goddess (Arinna) merged. From about 600 BC to 400 AD the Goddess was stamped out by the Roman Empire. Jesus in the middle of that did not have a lasting effect on women’s liberation, with the fall of the Egyptian empire to the Greek and then the Romans women lost a lot of rights that have taken another two thousand years to recover. Accepting and honoring the sacrifice of Jesus to purify the Goddess, we can now look safely to the time before 600 BC to undo the curse put on EVE by God for her supposed sin of offering Adam her apple. In the Greek stories this was the same curse put on Medusa by Athena for being raped by Poseidon. This was the same curse put on Mary Magdalene.

The secret is the Jesus by today’s standard legally raped Mary Magdalene (who was too young for age of consent) taking her as forbidden fruit putting an ugly curse on her like Athena did to Medusa where she would be considered by society to now be a prostitute, but then by marrying Mary Magdalene he restored her honor & was sinless himself keeping her as Aphrodite averting the wrath of Artemis. Athena the goddess of wisdom has been wisely guarding this secret and was darn near willing to fight to the death to keep it but the cat’s out the bag. EVE wanted it known. Ladies, I risked my life brining you this forbidden knowledge, and I hope it was worth it that some of you can use it to heal that somehow by meditating on Adam and Eve story and the sacred feminine you find your thyroid victory.

    PENTECOST THYROID VICTORY

In the Bible, the Tongues of Fire of the Holy Spirit land on the disciples on the day of Pentecost. Pente means the number 5., V in Roman numberals for Victory symbolized by the Goddess Nike in Athena’s hand whose wings are the thyroid guardian angel.

  • MANGANESE NUTRITION

Greetings iMedDo Newsletter Subscribers! Hope you are all having a wonderful summer. For this month’s episode, we meditate on Manganese! Manganese is a trace mineral nutrient surrounded in much mystery. It appears to be very evolutionarily ancient involved in energy metabolism and oxygen usage, where manganese interacts with many pathways, including calcium, magnesium, copper, and zinc and surprise! Iodine and thyroid hormones! Part one is for my general audience, and part two gets heavy into manganese biochemistry for my advanced readers. If you read this article you will be well on your way to Mastering the Manganese Mystery!

    MANGANESE ON PERIODIC TABLE

Manganese (Mn) is element #25. It’s a transition metal in period 4 (4th row), group 7 (column 7).

Manganese is element #25 on periodic table

Manganese #25 is flanked by Chromium (Cr) #24 and Iron (Fe) #26, and it’s in the same column (Group 7) as Technetium (Tc) #43, Rhenium (Rn) #75, Bohrium (Bh) #107. Don’t confuse Manganese (Mn) with similarly sounding element Magnesium (Mg) which is #12.

    MANGANESE FROM MAGNESIA

The words Manganese and Magnesium sound very similar because they are both from the same root word Magnesia an area of Greece & Turkey settled by the Magnetes tribe previous newsletter on Magnesium for more discussion. There was both a black ore and a white ore from Magnesia, and it is the black one that contains Manganese [the white ore contains Magnesium]. The manganese containing black ore from Magnesia is now know by the name pyrolusite which means “fire wash” and was used in ancient glass making to wash color out of glass as well as had applications for making different colors of stained glass.

Pyrolusite, a Manganese Oxide ore used in glass making for color removal.

Not only can manganese be used to remove color, it can be found & used in a variety of colors including even green, red, and purple. My favorite is the pink/red mineral composed of Manganese carbonate called Rhodocrosite.

    Rhodocrosite geodes (Manganese Carbonate Crystals).

Gem quality pieces of Rhodocrosite can look even more beautiful than a ruby! The most famous specimen is the “Alma Queen” on display at the Houston Museum of Natural Science which is simply amazing here’s a picture! Wow!

Rhodocrosite (Manganese Carbonate) Gem the “Alma Queen”

    MANGANESE SELF LOVE

Last month I talked about the Ben-Ben stone on top of pyramids in episode Happy Slave Mind Control and told you that the secret to resisting the mind control is to love yourself more. Well it turns out that Metaphysically the Manganese gemstone Rhodocrosite if for Self-Love so that’s just perfect!

    CHEMICAL CHAMELEON: POTASSIUM PERMANGANATE

In 1659, Swedish chemist Glauber fused pyrolusite ore (manganese dioxide) and potassium carbonate to obtain a material that when dissolved in water was GREEN (potassium manganate), which slowly color shifted to VIOLET (potassium permanganate), and then finally to RED a reaction now known as the “chemical chameleon” which was the first production of the super cool and useful PURPLE manganese containing chemical known as potassium permanganate (KMnO4).

Potassium Permanganate is a purple salt used in chemistry lab

Potassium permanganate (KMnO4) in liquid form is a strong oxidizing agent; and thus has many uses and is even a medicine in its own right comparable to hydrogen peroxide but stronger. Permanganate ions can be used as a germicidal antiseptic like iodine, and for water purification, but like hydrogen peroxide, requires dilution and careful dosing or can be dangerous if you get it in your eyes or ingest. I always remember potassium permanganate because I got to play with it and extract beautiful purple crystals in organic chemistry lab at Texas A&M University circa 2002. You can also combine potassium permanganate and glycerin as a firestarter as a cool survival trick.

    Potassium Permanganate (KMnO4) crystals

    MANGANESE METAL

Manganese when in pure metallic form looks silvery in color and forms natural cubic crystal structure. When manganese metal flakes oxidize, they can turn a variety of colors. Below is a picture of manganese in metallic cube form as well as chips of manganese oxidized which you can see can also be a variety of colors (black, brown, blue, greenish etc).

    MANGANESE INDUSTRIAL USES

The most common usage of manganese is as an alloy with iron to make steel. Manganese like Magnesium can also be alloyed with aluminum and 1% of aluminum cans are made of manganese. Also a large amount of manganese is used in battery industry as manganese dioxide batteries (zinc-manganese, lithium-manganese) such as common flashlight batteries. Manganese is also used in a fuel additive called  methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (MMT), and in a fungicide pesticide called Maneb. It is possible for people who work in mining, smelting, welding, or battery industries breathing in manganese fumes, or exposed to high manganese containing water, to get exposed to too much manganese which can cause a Parkinson’s like neurodegenerative problem called Manganism.

    MANGANESE CAVE PAINTINGS

Manganese mineral may have had more of an impact on humans than you might have realized. It turns out that the brown and black cave paintings such as the ones in Lascaux, France from 30k BC were made from Manganese oxide.

    NEANDERTHAL MANGANESE NUTRITION

Manganite powder has been a common find in Neanderthal archeology sites. It is believed that the Neanderthals making cave paintings with manganese oxide were also using it as fire-starter! We will see that modern humans mostly get manganese nutrition from fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains, but even if neanderthals mostly ate only meat, it is unlikely they would be manganese nutrient deficient since they touching manganese ore for their art & smoking manganese ore in their fire-pits, an only a small amount of manganese is required for human function.

    HOW MUCH MANGANESE WE NEED?

So how much manganese does a human need anyway? For quick answer let’s look at the NIH Fact Sheet for Manganese:

Spitballing from the above tables it looks like humans only need about 2 mg of Manganese a day and adults can get up to about about 11 mg of manganese a day with no problem. The thing that jumps out is that the government thinks women need less manganese than men in general (1.6-1.8 mg Mn for women) but (2.2-2.3 for men) yet think women need more manganese when pregnant or breastfeeding (2.0-2.6 mg).

Why do women need less manganese you might be wondering? I don’t think they do, I think this has to do with iodine deficiency & is related to iron. An important thing I learned is that both iron and manganese use the same receptors to absorb in the gut. So if you get too much manganese it could theoretically block iron absorption, and because many women are iron deficient (anemia) maybe that is why the government is recommending lower manganese for women than men. However, I think anemia for most women is being caused by either heavy metals like cadmium toxicity and/or low iodine (iodine deficiency), so instead of worrying about being low or high manganese just get more iodine (iMedDo detox system with NeuIodine) and when you iodine replenish and detox both your iron and manganese levels should return to normal.

Babies need more manganese but no-one really knows exactly how much more so the government just says that there is no upper limit established* with note that baby should just get manganese from breastmilk or formula and recommends 0.003 mg for babies 1-6 months or 0.6 mg Mn 7-12 months. Likely they are saying so low for babies because they put iron in formula and are recommending formula 1-6 months and are worried that too much manganese will block iron absorption. My position is don’t use formula use breastmilk but if you want a comparison see article Breastmilk & Multivitamins where I compare formula to breastmilk to egg to multivitamin. All 4 contain trace manganese and natural breastmilk contains approximately 0.1 mg Manganese which is higher than either cow or goat milk.

    SUPPLEMENT MANGANESE OR NOT?

Because manganese is easily obtained through diet and because too much manganese is possible I do not recommend you supplement any manganese in your diet other than what you get from eating healthy and small amount in multivitamin. I take the Power Source Once multivitamin created by Dr Calin Pop which has 10 mg Manganese (gluconate) 435% DV per serving. But each serving is 8 capsules so actually each capsule has where each serving is 8 capsules; so each capsule has 1.25 mg Manganese and I usually average about 1-2 capsules a day (I take less than the recommended dosage), so I probably get 1.25-2.5 mg Manganese a day from my multivitamin not including any sources from my diet. DrPop created his multivitamin recommendations for people with genetic problems who may need more nutrients than typical recommended daily values so you might need to take more but even if you take the full dosage of 8 capsules you are getting 10 mg Manganese which is still below the 11 mg recommended upper dosage for adults 19+ according to NIH table, and no doubt you can get 2-3x their upper tolerable level without any problems so I’m not worried about any overdosing on manganese in general. The one notable exception is that welders or certain occupations might be at risk for high manganese if they are breathing it in from welding fumes. When manganese levels get too hight it behaves as a quasi-heavy metal and becomes toxic and to detox you need more iodine, silver and gold is the iMedDo way. I don’t supplement manganese in general but there is a little manganese in my multivitamin.

    FOODS HIGH IN MANGANESE?

If you don’t want to supplement manganese at all you can still get enough in your diet if you eat the right foods.

Picture of Foods High in Manganese from DrAxe website.

The NIH Fact Sheet for Manganese has a nice table of foods and their manganese levels:

Looks like seafood, nuts, grains, fruits and vegetables basically if you eat healthy already you should be getting enough manganese. If you are all carnivore, you might want to throw some pyrolusite into your fire-pit that you grilling your meat on to make sure you getting enough manganese otherwise you might want to be sure to supplement a multivitamin.

Also check out the NIH’s short 3 page Fact Sheet for Consumers for more summarized information about Manganese nutrition.

PART TWO: MANGANESE BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE (ADVANCED)

The general public doesn’t really need to know much about manganese as they get it naturally in plants and it’s very hard for them to get too much unless they are working in some manganese industry like aluminum welding or battery industry where they might get too much from aerosolized magnesium exposure. Manganese isn’t typically tested for in blood work and it’s not something most people need to worry about supplementing. That said, there is wisdom to be found by meditating on manganese nutrition which gets very complex very fast, so for those of you who can hang with me enjoy as I discuss the parts of manganese biochemistry that jumped out at me, and I hope that you can meditate on it as well and find your own breakthroughs for your own applications.

    MANGANESE & IRON

The best starting place to think about manganese is to note that it is found naturally with iron, it’s also a neighbor or iron on the periodic table, and at first pass it appears that this adjacency of manganese and iron has highly influenced life. 3 observations linking manganese and iron are:

    1. Same receptors in the gut absorb either manganese or iron. More iron can potentially decrease manganese absorption and more manganese can potentially decrease iron absorption.
    2. The mitochondria have evolved to use manganese and iron together.
    3. Manganese in the brain when too high goes to area of high iron (basal ganglia: substantia nigra).

So when I meditate on Manganese my first observation is: Manganese is kinda like iron, it’s next to iron on the periodic table, it’s a transition metal like iron. Iron is used for ancient oxygen chemistry. Manganese appears to be used heavily for oxygen chemistry. The same pathways in the body that deal with iron also deal with manganese. Too much manganese appears to disrupt iron pathways. Many women have low iron (anemia), and thus we should also ask do they have have manganese as well?

    COPPER TO IRON-MANGANESE OXYGEN EVOLUTION

Ancient life appears to have at first used copper for oxygen chemistry and then we later evolved to use iron for oxygen chemistry. Manganese first appeared on my radar when I was meditating on copper see article Copper Containment where I made the following observations:

    1. Manganese is used with copper in the body.
    2. Iron is used with copper in the body.
    3. Copper electricity is harnessed by the body for oxygen metabolism.

    SUPEROXIDE DISMUTASE

The observation I’m making now is that both iron and manganese like copper can also be used for oxygen metabolism. Looking at copper and oxygen metabolism via superoxide dismutase enzyme we can make a very interesting evolutionary observation:

An interesting thing to note is that in humans & yeast our anti-oxidant SOD proteins uses Copper-Zinc (Cu-Zn) pair whereas our mitochondria use an iron or manganese (Fe/Mn) compared to a bacteria which uses Nickel (Ni).

    SUPEROXIDE DISMUTASE-2 USES MANGANESE

In humans we have 3 superoxide dismutase genes SOD-1, 2, 3. SOD proteins 1,3 used throughout most of the body use copper and zinc whereas SOD-2 used only in the mitochondria can use either manganese or iron at its catalytic core. SOD proteins break down harmful oxygen superoxides into less harmful (but still harmful) oxygen molecule O2 and hydrogen peroxide (H202). Thus from SOD-2 we see that manganese is used as part of system that controls oxidative stress, and more SOD expression correlates with longer cell life. Thus manganese mineral nutrient is important for mitochondrial long life. Having a manganese SOD-2 in mitochondria may mean that the body can regulate mitochondrial cell death better by keeping them alive using manganese or maybe depriving the mitochondria of manganese if it detects an dysfunctional mitochondria. Iron is used in heme in cytochrome C in mitochondria to detect H202 and to control apoptosis so I note that Manganese via SOD-2 and Iron via Cytochrome C work together as an Mn-Fe pair.

    LONG LIFE

Thinking about Cu/Zn & Fe/Mn in SOD we are getting really close to the secrets of long life.

According to wiki on SOD-3: “Among black garden ants (Lasius niger), the lifespan of queens is an order of magnitude greater than of workers despite no systematic nucleotide sequence difference between them.[6] The SOD3 gene was found to be the most differentially over-expressed gene in the brains of queen vs worker ants. This finding raises the possibility that SOD3 antioxidant activity plays a key role in the striking longevity of social insect queens.[6]

Many people have too high Cu and too low Zn, and many people more common in women have too low Fe and too high Mn. This indicates a dysregulation of SOD and likely leads to shorter life from oxidative damage. I think that the key to fixing this is to get iodine and silver and gold.

High copper can be balanced by gold, NeuGold nano-colloidal gold. It’s easy to take more zinc. But how do we fix low iron? Just taking more iron doesn’t work. Low iron can be caused by toxins such as cadmium so detoxing with iodine helps. If iron is too high can try taking more manganese. Getting more manganese into the mitochondria will help it live longer whereas silver works by shutting down dysfunctional mitochondria and iodine can both promote healthy mitochondria and shut down cancerous mitochondria. So Iodine + Manganese can work together to promote healthy mitochondria. Getting more manganese into your mitochondria by up-regulation of SOD-2 could result in longer life.

PLANTS USE MANGANESE TO MAKE OXGYEN

Let’s think about manganese from a different angle. We know it’s useful in oxygen metabolism as we discussed above but it turns out it’s critical to all life because plants need Manganese to create oxygen and without oxygen we would all die since we all exist in symbiosis with oxygen generating plants. Manganese is used in plants at the oxygen-evolving-complex in light generated photosynthesis. Looking at how it works multiple manganese atoms are used with an atom of calcium to create oxygen.

X-ray crystal structure of the Mn4O5Ca core of the oxygen evolving complex of Photosystem II at a resolution of 1.9 Å.

The magic happens when the fifth oxygen moelcule 05 is combined with a sixth oxygen atom (not shown) and diatomic O2 is released. Note how 05 is stabilized between two Manganese atoms (Mn1 and Mn4) as well as a calcium atom (Ca1).

So nice of plants to make oxygen for us. Even nicer that we can eat plants and get manganese nutrition because they have 4 molecules of manganese in each of their photosynthesis oxygen evolving complexes.

    PLANT MANGANESE COMES WITH CALCIUM

An interesting observation is that when we get manganese naturally from eating plants, each 4 molecules of manganese we get also comes attached to a calcium atom.

So it is not surprising that manganese nutrition is somehow linked with calcium signaling. What is clear is that manganese deficiency results in bone & cartilage problems, so thinking about how calcium and bones interact with manganese is worthwhile to meditate on.

    MANGANESE OVERVIEW

Manganese is used for Free Radical Defense Systems, Bone Formation, & Macronutrient metabolism. Manganese is also used in dozens of proteins and enzymes. Manganese is mostly found in the bones, also in the liver, kidneys and brain.

We already discussed how it is used in free radical defense systems via SOD-2 in the mitochondria. It makes sense that manganese is involved in bones as it comes naturally in our plant diet complexed with calcium atom. What Manganese is doing at a deeper level with the bones and metabolism is a bit of a mystery so I’ll look at the dozens of manganese proteins in more detail for clues to this manganese mystery.

    MAGNESIUM & MANGANESE

Manganese as Mn2+ form can sometimes substitute for Magnesium Mg2+ for stabilization of phosphates and thus could be used in energy pathways or enzymes that use phosphate energy (ATP, ADP, AMP etc). As an example let’s look at Manganese in detail in the brain protein glutamine synthase:

    GLUTAMINE SYNTHASE

In the human brain, the manganese is bound to manganese metalloproteins, most notably glutamine synthase in astrocytes. Glutamine synthetase (GS) is an enzyme that plays and essential role in the metabolism of nitrogen by catalyzing the condensation of glutamate and ammonia to form glutamine. Glutamine as glutamic acid is an amino acid used to make proteins and also is used as a neurotransmitter. In fact glutamic acid is the most abundant excitatory neurotransmitter in the vertebrate nervous system. (Also it serves as the precursor for the synthesis of the inhibitory gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in GABAergic neurons.)

Astrocytes protect neurons against excitotoxicity by taking up excess ammonia and glutamate. Because of its role in synaptic plasticity, glutamate is involved in cognitive functions such as learning and memory in the brain.

Ergo, Manganese is important for learning and memory because it is necessary in brain to temper too much glutamate or too much ammonia in the brain since manganese is necessary for glutamine synthase which converts excess glutamate and ammonia into glutamine amino acid instead.

So Manganese is part of an important brain neurotransmitter to amino acid to protein pipeline via glutamine synthesis interesting. Linking neurotransmitters to proteins to nitrogen metabolism manganese is important but what is it really doing?

I suspect Manganese as Mn2+ is being used here as an alternative to Mg2+ as a phosphate stabilizer for the ATP dependent part and of the glutamine synthase reaction which uses a phosphate intermediate. I think manganese is just helping convert Phosphate energy stored in ATP into a useful chemical reaction using the Mn as a intermediate stabilizer/co-factor.

To confirm I have to look at GS in more detail and figure out where the Manganese part is located and found this resource from a college inorganic chemistry course to help.

The reaction uses Manganese as Mn2+ as I suspected.
The reaction has a phosphate intermediate from ATP and maybe MN2+ is used to stabilize
GS protein looks like a big donut. Where is the Manganese exactly?
    There’s the Manganese!

“Each active site can be described as a bifunnel in which ATP binds at the top and glutamate binds at the bottom. Two metal cations lie at the center of each active site. The enzyme is functional with either Mg2+ or Mn2+ in the active site, however Mn2+ is more common despite the fact that it slightly slows down the activity of the GS enzyme.5 GS catalysis is faster with Mg2+, however GS selects Mn2+ because it binds to the enzyme with higher affinity.7 “

Okay that was lot of work but it was worth it. Yes I confirmed that that as I suspected Manganese is Mn2+ is functioning exactly as I would expect Magnesium as Mg2+ to behave. Mg2+ stabilized Phosphates and it looks like my hypothesis that Mn2+ can do the same is correct since this GS protein can be functional with either.

For the brain timing is important so the observation that the Mn2+ does the same as Mg2+ but slightly slows down the GS enzyme is interesting especially when you read about the GS protein in detail it has many other modulators (glycine, serine etc)

Turns out in GS there are actually TWO Manganese atoms used, one as a catalyst (blue) and the other as as the phosphate stabilizer (pink)

Manganese is an “oxygen stabilizer”! Carbon-Oxyen & Phosphate-Oxygen in the GS protein reaction.

Malfunction of GS in the brain can lead to neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s, epilepsy, glioblastoma multiforme, anxiety and depression. Manganese plays a central role in how this GS enzyme works as it needs Mn to function but can substitute with Mg if needed. It’s nice to know such an important pathway has a backup system. Also note that if your brain runs out of both Manganese and and Magnesium you are in trouble.

    ENZYMES THAT CONTAIN MANGANESE

Besides SOD-2 and glutamine synthase which we talked about above, other manganese containing enyzmes include oxidoreductases, transferases, hydrolases, lyases, isomerases, & ligases.

    ARGINASE

Arginase is a manganese containing enzyme of the hydrolase family, the final enzyme in the urea cycle. It is ubiquitous to all domains of life. It turns arginine plus water into ornithine plus urea. In humans and all mammals it allows the disposal of harmful ammonia into urea to be excreted via urine. Mn2+ ions coordinate with water, orienting and stabilizing the molecule and allowing water to act as a nucleophile and attack L-arginine, hydrolyzing it into ornithine and urea. Arginase-1 is located in the cytoplasm and hepatocytes (liver cells). Arginase-II is located in mitochondria and several tissues most abundantly in kidney and prostate. Arginase is expressed with nitric oxide synthase in smooth muscle, and is a controlling factor in both male erectile function and female sexual arousal.  Therefore, manganese dysregulation can result in problems with sexual function.

    PYRUVATE CARBOXYLASE

Pyruvate carboxylase (PC) is an enzyme that turns pyruvate into oxalate and requires either magnesium or manganese + Acetyl-CoA to function. As we saw earlier in the glutamine synthase enzyme as well, Mg2+ or Mn2+ are being interchangeable here because function is to stabilize phosphate residues during ATP dependent energy steps.

Pyruvate carboxylase uses a covalently attached biotin [Vitamin B7] cofactor which is used to catalyze the ATP– dependent carboxylation of pyruvate to oxaloacetate in two steps. Because PC enzyme is used in gluconeogenesis, the production of sugar, connections between manganese and diabetes suppression have been postulated.

When manganese is used it also requires an Acetyl-CoA a molecule that participates in many biochemical reactions in protein, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism.

    MANGANESE ABSORPTION

Manganese is absorbed in the small intestine through an active transport system, and possibly through passive diffusion as well when intake levels are high. After absorption, some manganese remains free, but most is bound to transferrin, albumin, and plasma alpha-2-macroglobulin. Manganese is taken up by the liver and other tissues, but the mechanism of this process is not well understood. Humans absorb only about 1-5% of dietary manganese and infants and children tend to absorb more. Infants absorb much more 20% of dietary manganese. Manganese absorption is regulated as evidenced by absorption efficiency increasing with low manganese intakes and decreases with higher intakes, but little is known about the mechanisms that control absorption. Men tend to absorb Mn less efficiently than women possibly because men tend to have higher iron status.

    BULK MANGANESE

The human body contains about 10-20 mg manganese of which 25% -40% is in the bone. The liver, pancreas, kidney and brain also contain manganese.

*I think every cell in the entire body contains some manganese since is used in the mitochondria and all cells have mitochondria. (SOD-2 protein for example).

    MANGANESE ELIMINATION

More than 90% of absorbed manganese is excreted via bile into the feces, and a small amount is reabsorbed. Very little is excreted in urine.

*Even though manganese is not excreted much in the urine, it’s effect on creating urine cannot be overstated since is used in arginase to make urea (the main component of urine). So I’m really surprised to hear not much manganese comes out of the urine.

    MANGANESE & IRON

Dietary iron intakes and iron status (measured from serum ferritin concentration) appear to be inversely associated with manganese absorption. The mechanism for this effect is unknown but the shared transporter of iron and manganese in the intestine might play a role.

    MANGANESE ABSORPTION BLOCKERS

Iron rich foods or supplements have been show to lower absorption of manganese. Phosphorus and calcium may also decrease your retention of manganese but at a lower amount compared to iron.

    DIETARY SUPPLEMENT TYPES

Mn in dietary supplements is present in many forms including amino acid chelates (e.g. manganese glycinate chelate, bisglycinate chelate, manganese glycinate chelate, and manganese aspartate). Other forms include manganese gluconate, manganese picolinate, manganese sulfate, manganese citrate, and manganese chloride.

*The multivitamin I take and recommend uses Manganese Gluconate. PowerSourceOne uses Manganese (Gluconate) 10 mg 435% DV per serving. Serving is 8 capsules so is 1.24 mg Mn/capsule. I don’t recommend taking stand alone manganese supplements just get the small amount of manganese you need from plant diet and multivitamin is plenty. However if you have HIGH iron confirmed by blood work you might consider taking a manganese supplement but in general is unlikely you are low in manganese, and be careful as too much manganese can become toxic.

MANGANESE TOXICITY IN WELDERS AND WATER

Manganese can have neurotoxic effect in large amounts. This is uncommon unless you are inhaling manganese or are drinking water with too high manganese levels. Inhaled manganese say if you are an aluminum welder (1% manganese in aluminum alloy) can cause inflammation of the lungs with symptoms that might include cough and bronchitis. High levels of manganese (>300 microgram Mn/L) are associated with reduced intellectual function in children. Manganese is also required for proper baby brain development and is not inherently neurotoxic.

*When you are iodine deficient it’s more likely that manganese will be toxic to too you whereas when you detox your body can eliminates any excess metals it doesn’t need.

*It’s still better to have well water with too much manganese in it than it is to drink fluoridated water.

    MANGANISM

“Exposure to high levels of manganese during fetal development can result in neurocognitive deficits, which in adults; manganese accumulation in the basal ganglia can lead to decreased dopamine levels and cell death in a syndrome called manganism which shares multiple features with Parkinson’s disease.” Early symptoms of manganese neurotoxicity include fatigue, headache, muscle cramps, loss of appetite, apathy, insomnia, and diminished libido. Manganism is initially characterized by the psychiatric disorder, locura manganica with symptoms including compulsive or violent behavior, emotional instability, and hallucinations.

    MANGANESE FROM PLANTS

The most natural source of manganese is from plants. The reason is that plants use manganese for photosynthesis as part of their oxygen evolving complex (OEC). Manganese is used with calcium for function of oxidizing individual oxygen molecules into oxygen O2 diatomic molecules which plants release into the atmosphere. So without manganese used by plants we wouldn’t be here because we need oxygen to live.

    DIGESTION

Manganese helps with protein and amino acid digestion and utilization, as well as the metabolism of cholesterol and carbohydrates.

    VITAMINS

Manganese helps body utilize a number of vitamins such as choline, thiamine, and vitamins C and E, and ensures proper liver function.

    BLOOD CLOTTING

Manganese plays a role in blood clotting and hemostasis in conjunction with vitamin K.

    VASODILATION

Manganese is a known vasodilator, which means it helps enlarge veins to efficiently carry blood to tissues like the brain.

    PANCREAS

Manganese is heavily concentrated in the pancreas. It’s involved in the production of insulin, which removes sugar from the blood. Thus, manganese may contribute to the proper secretion of insulin and help stabilize blood sugar.

    THYROID

Manganese plays a role in the production of thyroxine. Thyroxine (T4) contains 4 molecules of iodine and is the inactive form of thyroid hormone. Thus there is a connection between manganese and my favorite topic iodine. Iodine deficiency and heavy metal toxicity and halogen toxicity results in defective or dysregulated thyroid hormones and other dysregulation of minerals such as manganese which is a problem if it either gets too high or too low. It’s almost impossible to run out of manganese in your body as abundantly found in plant diet and stored in your bones, but it is easy for the manganese to get too high if your body is asking for more iodine and can’t find it. Body sends the signal to make more iodine containing thyroid hormones (T4) via TSH via brain dopamine which is affected by manganese levels. Too much manganese has bad effect by accumulating in high iron part of the brain in the basal ganglia known as the substantia nigra and can disrupt dopamine as well as TSH and other thyroid hormones. Manganese deficiency could cause or contribute to hypothyroid condition, which may contribute to weight gain and hormone imbalances.

REFERENCE: EFFECTS OF MANGANESE ON THYROID HORMONE HOMEOSTASIS

Soldin OP, Aschner M. Effects of manganese on thyroid hormone homeostasis: potential links. Neurotoxicology. 2007 Sep;28(5):951-6. doi: 10.1016/j.neuro.2007.05.003. Epub 2007 May 13. PMID: 17576015; PMCID: PMC2067987.

*Don’t worry about being low in manganese for your thyroid just get more iodine and it should fix itself as you detox hormones and mineral levels including manganese should rebalance. It’s very hard to run out of manganese unless you just completely stop eating any plants. For carnivores doing a paleo diet maybe you need to throw some manganese into your fire-pit like the Neanderthals did if you don’t want to eat any plants. Humans are omnivores so eat some meat and plant matter is my personal strategy.

    DOPAMINE

“Dopamine is a known inhibitory modulator of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) secretion. The involvement of dopamine and dopaminergic receptors in neurodevelopment, as well as TSH modulation led us to hypothesize that excessive manganese exposure may lead to adverse neurodevelopment outcomes due to the disruption of thyroid homeostasis via the loss of dopaminergic control of TSH regulation of thyroid hormones”

*The paper hypothesizes that too much manganese can adversely affect your brain, dopamine and thyroid hormone regulation.

    OSTEOARTHRITIS

Combining manganese with glucosamine and chondroitin may reduce osteoarthritis pain.

*I recommend Frankincense and berries for osteoarthritis (NeuGold for Rhematoid arthritis).

    WOUND HEALING

Manganese is present in an enzyme that provides amino acid called proline. Proline is necessary for the production fo collagen in your skin cells. Collagen formation is essential to wound healing, and wound healing can be slowed down with manganese deficiency.

*Manganese deficiency is rare, I put Neusilver on wounds for wound healing.

Some research shows that putting manganese calcium and zinc on chronic wounds for 12 weeks may improve wound healing.

*Zinc does help with some skin conditions, had a friend break out in a chlorine rash after getting into a over-chlorinated pool and she broke out in hives. I had her apply zinc oxide suncreen and it made the itching stop. Whether manganese mixed with calcium and zinc is better for wound healing than just zinc I’m not sure but worth a shot. Typically I just use NeuSilver on skin wounds and they heal very fast usually without a scar.

    FERTILITY

Manganese deficiency though rare can result in low fertility such as testicular shrinkage. Manganese deficiency in animals has been found to cause skeletal defects like curved spine, shorter and thicker limbs and enlarged joints.

    MENSTRUAL CYCLE

Low levels of manganese might contribute to pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS).

*I’ve heard of women taking NeuGold to help with PMS, but apparently taking manganese might help as well. I’m not a woman so ladies let me know if works.  What works better for PMS: NeuGold or Manganese? If anyone has any data on or personal experience on that let me know.

From what I know now, I suspect you might also want to try taking Magnesium as both Gold is known to unblock the +2 divalent metal pathway that is blocking probably both Manganese Mn2+, and Magnesium Mg2+, and also maybe try zinc (Zn2+) and calcium (Ca2+)

    DIVALENT METAL TRANSPORTER

Neurons, contain divalent metal transporter (DMT1). DMT1 is a major transporter for manganese and is functionally important with regard to the necessity of stable homeostasis of manganese in in extracellular fluids for optimal brain function. Rat studies show that injected manganese within 5 minutes can be found in the choroid plexus and then cerebrospinal fluid indicating it was let in by DMT1 transporter.

    IMMUNE SYSTEM

Manganese may have a role in the immune system for natural immunity along with iron and zinc. “Unlike zinc, there is little information regarding the effects of manganese deficiency on immune development and function. There are, however, limited data suggesting that toxic levels of manganese may impair immune function. Further, emerging data have revealed that vertebrates resist bacterial infections through manganese sequestration.”

*Invading pathogens fight with your body for iron. Iron feeds bacteria. It’s not surprising they might fight for manganese as well but the data sounds too sketchy to comment further.

    CONCLUSION

My take is that Manganese nutrition is not a problem for vast majority of people. What is a problem for vast majority of people is iodine deficiency. Manganese problems and iodine deficiency overlap in symptoms because of manganese’s use in dopamine/TSH/thyroid hormone pathway. If you think your manganese is out of whack try the iMedDo detox system. Studying manganese gave me insight in iron problems, magnesium problems and let me look at iodine and thyroid neuroendocrine regulation of metabolism in a whole new light. Manganese and Iron are used instead of Copper and Zinc for mitochondrial suppression of oxygen free radical in SOD-2 which is exciting as we are narrowing in on very useful information for how to live longer when we mediate on manganese nutrition, so thank you for reading and thinking about Manganese! I’m not sure if we mastered the mystery but at least we have a good starting platform which I hope you of all reading levels found useful. For those of you with advanced training you will note how much about manganese is simply unknown, so I hope this article simply peaked your interest and will inspire some future generation to look more deeply into this and related topics.

PS Manganese from Magnesia is sacred to the Ancient Great Goddess. It has the power to make babies healthy or to murder you if you take too much or get too cocky like Niobe. Manganese meditation took me to a dark but beautiful place in human history where slaves working in mines and went insane, rebelled when they learned the truth that we are all one with God and created in God’s image. Pyrolusite is a component of the Philosopher’s Stone. Great Goddess energy is back as we are all being treated like mine slaves again with the covid jabs, the results never end well. End of civilization for some, start of a new Golden Age for others.

  • CADMIUM DETOX

    CADMIUM DETOX

Greetings iMedDo newsletter subscribers! Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. In this episode we are going to look closely at an often overlooked toxic heavy metal known as cadmium. My goal is that you have a basic understanding of where cadmium exposure comes from, problems it causes in the body, and how to detox cadmium using iMedDo Detox System and mineral rebalancing.

    WHAT IS CADMIUM

Cadmium is element 48 on the periodic table. Cadmium is a soft silvery white transition metal and is a toxic heavy metal. In general elements heavier than element 34 are toxic, and cadmium is no exception. The notable exceptions of elements larger than atomic number 34 which are not toxic are: silver (47), iodine (53) & gold (80), all three of which are used in the iMedDo detox system.

CADMIUM WAS DISCOVERED AS A ZINC IMPURITY

Cadmium was discovered in 1817 by German chemists Stromeyer & Hermann while they were analyzing an impurity which they thought at first was arsenic that was naturally occurring in zinc ore. The zinc ore was called Cadmia named after the Greek hero Cadmus (Kadmos), and was used in making calamine lotion. Because the new element was isolated from the Cadmia they named it Cadmium which kinda makes sense, and is also cool because it means the element Cadmium is also indirectly named after the Greek hero Cadmus as well (see Appendix: Mythology of Greek Hero Cadmus).

    SOURCES OF CADMIUM TOXICITY

The primary use of cadmium is in Nickel-Cadmium rechargeable batteries. Although exposure to cadmium from battery industry is possible, it’s not thought to be a major source of cadmium toxicity.

Instead the main source of cadmium toxicity is from fertilizers and cadmium contaminated soils and from diet from plants grown in cadmium contaminated soils.

Cadmium used to be used in PVC pipes but is no longer, and cadmium and cadmium toxicity can also come from a variety of industrial applications such as cadmium used on metals an an anti-corrosive, and cadmium used in nuclear industry, and used in semi-conductor industry.

Another potentially serious source of cadmium toxicity is from cadmium paints used from yellow, orange and red dyes. Cadmium sulfide is yellow and cadmium selenide is red.

Breathing cadmium dust is more toxic than eating it certain industries like sandblasting cadmium paint into a dust and inhaling can have higher cadmium toxicity.

Most people with cadmium toxicity will probably never even know it as you’ll just think you have some other metal toxicity like mercury or lead, as many of the heavy metal symptoms are all the same like headache, anxiety, nausea, acne, low energy etc.

Cadmium toxicity is most well known for causing renal failure and bone problems though causes full body problems from mineral disruption like zinc mimicry. Cadmium does interfere with calcium signaling but even worse it shuts down the mitochondria in the kidneys and without kidney function calcium problems are exacerbated even more. Cadmium toxicity is amplified by fluoride, aluminum, and low iodine and amplified with other toxic heavy metals. Iodine is a very important part of combating cadmium as iodine promotes mitochondria and energy.

PERIODIC TABLE GIVES CLUES AS TO CADMIUM’S TOXICITY

Looking at cadmium on the periodic table we can see it’s in group (column) 12, which include: Zinc/Zn (30), Cadmium/Cd (48), Mercury/Hg (80) and Copernicium/Cn (112).

Copernicium is radioactive and toxic and does not occur naturally so doesn’t really matter. Of the three naturally occurring ones, zinc, cadmium and mercury, zinc is known to be a critical nutrient, whereas cadmium is toxic and mercury is uber toxic.

Mercury is believed to be the most toxic of all the heavy metals tied only perhaps with lead. Being in the same family as Mercury is not a good look for cadmium. Like Mercury, I presume even before learning more about cadmium that it is also toxic and that it’s primary mechanism of toxicity is likely as Cd2+ ions interfering with zinc Zn2+ ions, and potentially also interfering with other +2 signaling pathways such as calcium Ca2+ and Magnesium Mg2+ as well though will have to read more to confirm.

Doing a quick search is looks like cadmium toxicity can cause respiratory damage, Renal (Kidney) damage, Skeletal Lesions, Osteoporosis and Anemia, Anosmia (loss of smell), and yellowing of the teeth.
    https://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/csem/cadmium/Chronic-Effects.html

Searching in more depth I was able to confirm that as I suspected just from looking at the periodic table, and being a biochemist to notice, that Cadmium does in fact interfere with Zinc, & does interfere with Calcium & Magnesium.

Doing some more reading I also found that Cadmium interferes with Manganese, and Copper and Iron as well.

In fact it appears that Cadmium interferes with Manganese the most.

Manganese (not to be confused with Magnesium) is an important nutrient that I have not yet written a newsletter about. I have written newsletters about Zinc, Magnesium though which also talk about Calcium.

If you’ve forgotten an important take home from zinc article is that there are 3000 known zinc proteins which is a whopping 10% of the human genome’s 30,000 encoded proteins use zinc.

So Cadmium interfering with zinc is bad news as can potentially interfere with 3k proteins and also interfere with zinc ion (Zn2+) signaling.

Taking more zinc does help with cadmium poisoning to an extent but what is found to help even more is taking manganese.

Zinc is balanced by copper, and when body is tricked into thinking its zinc levels are too high (from cadmium mimicking zinc) taking more copper helps (but don’t do that) instead take gold. iMedDo NeuGold. Gold is a superior conductor to copper in the nerves, and when the body gets untracked and realizes that it’s not actually high zinc, it’s high cadmium imitating zinc, then it is glad that you didn’t over copper as not enough zinc around to balance but with gold can mineral balance safely.

A very important thing I learned while researching cadmium is that cadmium can be detoxed using iron. Normally people do not need to supplement iron, but interestingly with cadmium poisoning one of the most common side effects is anemia (low iron) because the body is using up the iron to detox the cadmium. A few years ago I wrote an article on iron, and the issue of iron anemia was confusing to me. But now I see if you have chronic anemia, you very well could be dealing with cadmium toxicity, detox and if that was the problem the anemia should go away. I eat off of cast iron skillets so I’m not really worried about either low iron, but if my iron was low even while I was eating off of iron skillets at least now I know something that could be causing that! Cadmium toxicity.

CADMIUM POISONING IN JAPAN: ITAI-ITAI (IT HURTS, IT HURTS) DISEASE

The most well known case of cadmium poisoning was in Japan in 1912 when a mining company was releasing cadmium into a river. Coined as ITAI ITAI or it hurts it hurts disease, the locals drinking from the river and eating rice grown from the cadmium contaminated river water developed severely painful spine/bone and joint problems as well as softening of the bones and kidney failure.

CADMIUM POISONING CAUSES BONE SOFTENING SPINAL DAMAGE

From the Japanese we learn that the main problem with cadmium poisoning (besides kidney failure) is that it causes softening of the bones. This is a serious problem if your spine softens and you get micro fractures in the bones which can be extremely painful as happened to the Japanese with Itai-Itai disease. Bone softening is a clue that cadmium interferes with calcium pathways and likely magnesium and other bone pathways. We known know that cadmium interferes with manganese and zinc nutrients in particular, and much of the calcium interference is from the kidney damage.

    CADMIUM POISONING CAUSE KIDNEY DAMAGE

Cadmium can make kidneys shrink by up to 30% and rather than re-uptaking enough calcium back into the blood, nutrients such as calcium (and magnesium and zinc and others (manganese in particular seems important with cadmium toxicity) too much of them are lost. The result is softened bones from the kidney damage.

    CADMIUM TOXICITY SUMMARIZED

Cadmium heavy metal is toxic because like both mercury and lead it can form a +2 ion that interferes with +2 ion signaling in the body. In particular cadmium interferes with the same things lead and mercury interfere with (zinc, calcium, and magnesium), and additionally interferes with manganese, copper and iron. It goes without saying that cadmium toxicity will also result in low iodine as body has to expend iodine to detox it.

    CADMIUM DETOX SUPPLEMENT CHANGES

Normally you should already be supplementing the above things (zinc, calcium, magnesium, manganese) in your multivitamin(s).

But it is not normally recommended to supplement copper or iron.

But with cadmium poisoning supplementing copper and iron is okay, but an even better way is to instead of supplementing copper and iron is to supplement gold and silver.

So if you are just going along and taking your iMedDo detox system and a great multivitamin (I endorse PowerSourceOne created by DrCalin Pop) then you should be fine for cadmium detox.

If you want to get fancy, if you knew for certain you had cadmium toxicity then you might want to up your magnesium and especially your manganese supplementation, and if you are confirmed to be iron anemic from the cadmium poisoning then also supplement iron.

MANGANESE & ZINC FOR CADMIUM DETOX

The most interesting thing I learned about cadmium toxicity that I was not aware of before writing this article is the importance of manganese in addition to zinc but even more so than zinc for cadmium detox.

Fortunately, although toxic, cadmium is not as toxic as either mercury or lead. I suspect that because zinc is used so ubiquitously in the body (see my zinc article, 3000 known pathways) that our body has ways of separating out and limiting the damage of the cadmium as cadmium is a common contaminant of zinc in our diet.

    SULPHUR & SELENIUM

Additionally as a +2 charged cadmium ion Cd2+, the body uses both sulphur (S2-) and selenium (Se2-) charged molecules for detox.

    IODINE FOR CADMIUM DETOX

The way I’m familiar with for detox is that body uses iodine as a universal oxidant of heavy metals (and iodine is used by the body as an anti-oxidant in other pathways).

SILVER & GOLD FOR CADMIUM DETOX

Because silver is known by me to be the direct antidote to Mercury and gold to lead and both mercury and lead Hg2+ and Pb2+ are similar in charge to cadmium as its preferred Cd2+ ion form, then likely either silver or gold or both will be useful in detoxing cadmium. I’m not sure which will work better so to be safe just use both silver and gold as well as iodine in iMedDo detox system and you will get the cadmium out.

COPPER & IRON VS GOLD & SILVER

Normally you wouldn’t supplement copper or iron, however with cadmium toxicity, you can. However, I believe that supplementing gold instead of copper and silver instead of iron is even better. The iMedDo way is to not worry about supplementing copper or iron, as instead you are supposed to be supplementing silver and gold along with iodine using the iMedDo Detox System.

    CADMIUM CARCINOGEN

Cadmium is a known carcinogen and promotes cancer. Based on my current understanding of medicine, it’s most likely from mitochondrial disruption, and using both iodine and silver is the solution, and note that all three iodine, silver and gold in iMedDo system are anti-cancer so don’t worry about cadmium carcinogenesis, just detox and it will go away.

SILVER & IODINE VS CADMIUM AT MITOCHONDRIA

Silver shuts down mitochondrial cells that have become cancerous.
Iodine shuts down mitochondrial cells that have become cancerous and also promotes more mitochondria to be formed.

Because primary cadmium toxicity is killing kidney mitochondria, it is important to take both iodine and silver together not just silver alone when detoxing cadmium, and as discussed above, gold is useful for cadmium detox as an alternative to copper.

    IRON & CADMIUM

Besides kidney failure, the other most common side effect of cadmium poisoning is suppressed red blood cell formation (erythropoiesis). An surprising discovery while reading about cadmium detox is the iron can be used to detox cadmium and in particular iron in the body is used up to detox cadmium. So cadmium toxicity comes with anemia (low red blood cells) as then there is less iron to to around to form hemoglobin in red blood cells.

    CADMIUM COVID CONSPIRACY

Because cadmium poisoning can cause “flu like symptoms”, and because cadmium anemia would look a lot like malaria parasite, and because cadmium poisoning in the air could cause serious respiratory problems, I had never thought about it but if the entire covid pandemic was faked, then cadmium poisoning could have been used to do it. I’m not saying it was, I’m just pointing out that sneaky poisoners have many ways to trick us into thinking we have a virus when it could just have been caused by a metal toxicity.

    CADMIUM CHEMTRAILS

There is a documented declassified case in the 60’s of the UK spraying cadmium on their poor citizens. Normally when I think about chemtrails I’m thinking about barium, aluminum and strontium but now I’m also thinking about cadmium. It seems entirely plausible that cadmium toxicity sprayed as chemtrails to damage the lungs and cause flu-like symptoms and then activation by 5G could in fact be deployed as a bioweapon, and possibly it has already been deployed, very disturbing thoughts. Cadmium is much more readily absorbable in the lungs 10-40% whereas when eaten is only a few percent absorbed.

    NUTRIENT DEPLETION EXACERBATES CADMIUM POISONING

The body when it gets low in zinc or manganese in particular in an attempt to absorb more in the diet will also absorb more cadmium. Thus having good nutrition protects against cadmium poisoning.

    THE IMEDDO WAY

The iMedDo way is to be in a constant state of detox. The goal is that by taking iMedDo detox system that you will detox toxins like cadmium out faster than you are taking them in. There is a small amount of cadmium naturally occurring in soil from zinc ores and a large amount of cadmium in many foods from cadmium contaminated crop fertilizers, so even if you are eating healthy you are being exposed to cadmium, so just keep detoxing and you will stay healthy.

APPENDIX: MYTHOLOGY OF GREEK HERO CADMUS

Cadmium named from the zinc ore Cadmia is thus also indirectly named after the Greek hero Cadmus from which Cadmia ore was named. Cadmus was a Greek hero like a proto-Hercules who is as far as I can tell also and Orion constellation reference and a milky way reference which gives the word cadmium access to magical qualities. The mythology of Cadmus is very interesting as he is the Phonecian who brought the Phonecian alphabet to the Greeks (Boetia area), and he has a fascinating mythos related to dragons, dragons teeth, the Spartans and a host of greek gods and goddesses and European cow mythology (Zeus and Europa).

    https://www.britannica.com/topic/Cadmus

Cadmus was the brother of Europa, and Boetia is “Cow City”. Because Boetia Greece was conquered by Alexander the Great 335 BC, it is interesting to me to look towards the Greek Ptolomy dynasty of Egypt founded in Alexander’s legacy for syncretic study of ancient Greek mythology with ancient Egyptian mythology. Cadmus would be the hero comparable to Egyptian Hero/Heru, and is the same as Hercules also being an Orion constellation reference. The story of Cadmus and his wife Harmonia being transformed into dragons is thus not surprising, as the red nebula behind the Orion constellation is the dragon here and the milky way can also be imagined as a dragon. An interesting thing to me is that as Europa’s brother it would be up to Cadmus to avenge his sister for her being raped by the God Zeus, and sure enough like Prometheus, Cadmus is a human rather than God imagining of the Orion constellation, and when you imagine yourself as God when you look at the Orion constellation instead of seeing it as Zeus or Thor or Perrun or some other god holding the milky way as a thunderbolt then indeed Cadmus like Prometheus would be seen as the God-slayer encoding Greco-Buddhist astrotheology.

  • Iron: The Firestone of Life

    IRON THE FIRESTONE OF LIFE

by DrBenGo Healthwarrior (A. Ben Goins MS DSM)

Iron is a cosmic metal. It forms as a final breakdown product of stars, and is abundantly found in the cores of all the inner planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars. The iron cores create the planetary magnetic fields. A notable exception is the Moon, which does not have an iron core, formed from the ejected crust of the earth instead. The crust of the Earth, unlike its core, has very little iron except in oxidized form. Because iron does not exist on earth in the metallic form on the crust, early humans first discovered iron from fallen meteors which have a metallic iron-nickel core more similar to the core of the iron containing planets. Thus, iron in metallic form, was only discovered by humans well after copper and gold which exist naturally in metallic form. Iron requires smelting at higher temperatures than copper or gold, and thus; the first meteoric iron discovered was cold worked.

    NAME OF IRON

The middle name of my grandmother is Irene. It wasn’t until I wrote this article that I realized that the name Irene is etymologically related to the word Iron meaning “Mighty, Strong, Holy”. The word iron is related to the Latin word Ira “Anger” and the Latin word for iron is Ferrum, hence many of the chemistry terms such as Ferrous & Ferric for iron in different oxidation states. The conflation of iron with being a “holy metal” likely stems from its meteoric origin from the heavens as well as its silvery appearance in meteoric metallic alloy form. Meteors were likely thought to be the gods being angry at humanity if a meteor (Thunderstone/Thor-Stone) landed in your village. I’m imagining the hammer of Thor was likely made of meteoric iron and believed to be “heaven silver” where the word silver means “shining & holy” but was actually meteoric iron of “silvery appearance”.

    IRON CHEMISTRY

Group 8 on the Periodic Table of the Elements includes Iron (Fe), Ruthenium (Ru), Osmium (Os), Hassium (Hs) with atomic numbers Fe 26, Ru 44, Os 76, Hs 108.

Existing in the d-block of the periodic table, iron (Fe) is a transition metal, whose definition is “an element whose atom has a partially filled d sub shell, or which can give rise to cations with an incomplete d sub-shell”. Iron gives the red color of many oxidized forms on the earth’s crust such as red clay and pigmented sandstone and also occurs in magnetite.

    IRON ALCHEMY

The symbol of iron is the symbol for Mars (Ares), the Roman god of war. The Roman civilization was considered the height of the “Iron Age” because they used iron to make war by creating swords and collars to conquer and enslave. So iron can be bad if you use it for death and enslavement, but it is still a good metal if you use it for building and tools of life such as implements of farming and shelter. Iron is indeed “Mighty” and can be used for good or ill. Iron is associated with fire, and iron like fire is dangerous when misused but not something we want to live without when we need it for heating & cooking and energy, but is truly terrible when used to burn down a forrest or village. Iron is much the same way. I almost hesitated to write this article because meditating on iron was taking me down dark paths of thinking about the worse parts of human nature. If you study chimpanzees, they do occasionally kill other chimps from other tribes and the male chimps sometimes try to bully the female chimps into following them around when they are in oestrus, so the primate inclination to kill and enslave was already there, but with iron for spears and iron collars for enslavement, metallic iron gave humans a more efficient way to do both. I bring this up because when you meditate on iron, if you start going down a dark path, shift your focus to the positive and you will find that iron is neither good nor bad, it is merely a mandala with an infinite usages, and it is important that we use it for good not evil. Just as silver is toxic to vampires, iron is toxic to faeries, and the dark usages of iron for war and enslavement are why. However, iron can be transmuted into fire, and fire into divine fire, and supreme victory over evil for those who recognize the connection between iron and gold (iron alchemy).

    IRON-QUARTZ FIRESTONE: FLINT

Flint is an iron containing quartz made from silica infused limestone of of different colors from differences in iron content. When Flint “firestone” is struck with iron containing pyrite another “firestone”, it makes a spark as iron reacts with oxygen in the atmosphere which can be used to ignite nearby flammable material.

    HUMAN DISCOVERY OF FIRE

Chimpanzees have been observed to throw rocks at bush pig prey, and it is possible that primates may have discovered fire by accidentally throwing Flint rocks and sparking a fire. Hominid remains with flint have been found dating back 3.3 million years so likely the discovery of fire happened very early in or may even be the defining discovery of origin of the human race. In any case, Flint is the defining rock of the “Stone Age” as it was necessary for stone tools, stone weapons, and making fire all necessary for early human life.

    STEEL & PIGS

Although striking steel to flint will create a spark, steel was not discovered until much later in human history until after the discovery of how to smelt iron metal. This did not occur until after the smelting of copper & gold (found naturally in metallic form) as iron does not occur naturally in metallic form on the earth’s crush (except in meteors). Furthermore iron requires a higher smelting temperature to melt than copper or gold and whereas copper-gold smelting may have been around by 8000 BC, it is though that iron smelting may not have been around until 4000 BC and the making of steel (hardened iron) did not come about until even later (1800 BC) and is an ongoing process even unto modern times to make better and better steel. To get iron metal you have to heat up iron oxides which the early humans used as pigments in their caves. From the iron containing clay used to make the early furnaces, to the iron oxide sands & dirt & “pigment” (mind of the pig as pigs eat dirt) put in the furnace, to the iron metal extracted. Steel is an alloy of iron & carbon used to harden the iron metal. If the carbon content is too high though the iron becomes brittle and it is called “pig iron”.

    CULINARY RELIGIONS

I personally believe there is a relation to pig farming and the discovery of iron and fire and there is evidence that Chimps eat pig (bush pig) occasionally in their diet. Early man may have noticed that eating uncooked pork was making them sick and thus for those who ate pig, the ability to have fire and cook it was likely very important. In early religions the ability to have a fire was important for “Purity” and the Greek/Pheonician/Sumerian word “Fire” (Pyr) and “Pure” are etymologically connected. Ancient Sumerian documents describe how heaven is a “Clean” place, likely meaning a fire-burnt (Purified) place. The idea of “unclean” food still exists in some religions (Judaism/Islam) as does the idea of “Purifying the food by fire” i.e. Cooking it! By the time of Roman Christianity because of the influence of the Roman Paul, all food was declared “clean” because it’s not what you put into your mouth but what comes out of it (your loving or unkind words) that can make your spirit clean or unclean. Everyone is entitle to their own spiritual beliefs but we now know that certain foods can be contaminated with bacteria and that cooking it over fire can indeed “purify” it. So I guess the modern culinary religion is to cook your food but this is not universal as there are many even today talking about an uncooked “Paleo” diet so the culinary religions wars continue even to this day! Regardless of your culinary religion, everyone agrees that many foods both vegetable and meat contain iron and that iron is a nutrient your body needs. I’m excited to give you my take on iron nutrition and I think the key is understanding the firestone which I will continue to discuss and then how it relates to biochemistry and then how it relates to animal and human nutrition and what lessons we can learn.

    BEFORE STEEL

Although the history of humans discovering and using fire via iron & later steel to make weapons, kill & enslave each other to enforce their preferred culinary and spiritual preferences is somewhat interesting, it is not the subject of this article, as I focus on life not death. I write about iron not to inspire you to go out and smelt a sword or make a fire to burn down a village, but rather because I want you to think about the fire within, the fire in your middle (pyramid), and I have discovered that if you focus on pyrite the firestone, you can achieve profound insight into life through biochemistry from whence we can talk iron nutrition.

    THE WISDOM OF FOOL’S GOLD

The important point I want to make here is that for MOST of human history we did not have steel and thus to create fire you needed not just FLINT but another firestone, the firestone, PYRITE. Pyrite literally means “fire within” or I translate as “firestone” from Greek “Pyr” i.e. “fire”. Pyrite is extremely important because if you understand how it works as best we can, it provides profound insight & reflection into how life itself works for all life not just human life. So the pyrite cubic crystal mandala is my preferred spirit mirror or “crystal ball” (crystal cube) for discussing iron alchemy. If you have a pyrite crystal, look into a face of the cube and see if you can see your own reflection. If not just look at the pyrite in the image. While you read this article, mediate on the nature of how iron is used in life, and how it is used inside the human body and then reflect on how iron can be better used when transformed to gold and enlightenment rather than for war & weapons. The wisdom offered by the iron mandala is very deep and stretches my ability as a biochemist to describe as stretches into advanced bio-inorganic chemistry, and the interaction of metals beyond even my current understanding as a metal detox expert. I freely admit that I only partially understand it, but I will do my best to impart what knowledge I have learned and I hope the upon reading on you will learn and absorb what you can from the study of iron & life.

    PYRITE THE FIRESTONE

Pyrite is a crystal of iron (Fe) and sulphur (S) which forms a beautiful golden colored cubical structure & pyrite is the most common of the sulfide minerals (see picture at start of article).
The chemical structure of pyrite is FeS2 [iron(II) disulphide] and it is also called iron pyrite, iron sulfide. Pyrite is commonly called “Fool’s Gold” as it is not actually gold (Au), being iron/sulphur (Fe/S) instead, but pyrite is frequently found NEAR gold veins. No doubt a caveman would get very excited to find some pyrite as not only could he make fire by striking flint to the pyrite now but could look in vicinity for actual gold (Au). Because some pyrite would be complexed with Arsenic (Arsenopyrite) some gold or deposits might be considered off limits or may have developed myths that certain areas were forbidden to mine. In more modern times, besides Fool’s gold, Pyrite has nickname Brass, Brazzle and significantly the country Brazil is named after the pyrite found in its coal deposits. Being found near coal is important as is found near organic carbon (life remains) which is not surprising since Pyrite is important to life as will be discussed further.

    A JOURNEY THROUGH TIME

Take a quick mental time travel and go back back back, long before the caveman, and long before the avian dinosaur or even the crawly ocean life, even before eukaryotic life, as far back as prokaryotic & archea (archaic bacterial life) not millions but billions of years ago! The earth formed say 4.5 billion years ago and sometime in the time period 3.5-4.5 BILLION years ago the first unicellular life on earth was present.

    MARS THE SYMBOL OF IRON

Did the life evolve here on earth or was the “seed of life” imparted to earth from a collision with Mars as the Sumerians say? It is hard to know. We do know that there were oceans on Mars millions of years ago, and we also know that the red of the planet Mars is from iron oxides in the “soil” (regolith). We don’t know whether the first life came from Mars or not, but we do know that the first life required iron. Not just any iron, iron very similar to PYRITE! How similar? How about a cuboid of iron and sulphur that’s how similar!!! But rather than a big crystal you can see with your eye, we are talking on the atomic scale. The smallest iron-sulphur cube possible (I’ll call it “nano-pyrite”).

    NITROGEN FIRESTONE OF LIFE

A double firestone of “nano-pyrite” can be seen in the earliest of enzymes called nitrogenase. The reason iron is required by all life is because it is used in an enzyme for fixing nitrogen by the earliest of single celled life which all subsequent life ultimately learned to depend on. Fixed nitrogen is required for creating nitrogen containing nucleotides & amino acids required for forming DNA and proteins. In the enzyme called nitrogenase, found in in certain bacteria, such as cyanobacteria, nitrogen gas (N2) is turned into “fixed” into ammonia (NH4+) a more organic & useable form required for other life forms. Nitrogen fixing bacteria in soil help feed plants which help feed higher organisms. Iron is the catalyst in nitrogenase where a molecule of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate), the biochemical energy molecule is used around a double cuboidal iron-sulphur core (reminiscent of pyrite firestone, I call it a double “nano-pyrite” firestone) to catalyze the fixation of the nitrogen. Some nitrogenases use an iron (Fe) & molybdenum (Mb) metal core, some a iron vanadium (V) core, and some use a fully iron-iron core. In all cases the iron is complexed to sulphur, with a cuboidal shape, and perhaps early life was modeling this reaction from the pyrite (iron-sulphur) firestone found in nature (See pyrite picture), thus I call this motifs the “nano-pyrite” structure or the “nano-firestone” or the “FIRESTONE OF LIFE”. Move over silly middle age alchemists with you “Philosopher’s Stone” and behold the “NANO-FIRESTONE!” Mwahahahaah!!!!! (Insert mad scientist alchemist laughter). Discovery of the nano-firestone makes me happy to have spent so much of my life learning biochemistry to have noticed this.

    IRON-SULPHUR CHAINS OF NITROGEN

Because nitrogenase in bacteria is the only enzyme family known to fix nitrogen, and become all life requires fixed nitrogen to function, in a way all life depends on these little iron-sulphur bacteria who fix nitrogen for us. Plants rely on nitrogen fixing bacteria in the carbon containing soil to fix nitrogen for them and then animals eat the plants obtaining fixed nitrogen indirectly. All nitrogen fixing requires iron-sulphur (nano-pyrite) in the nitrogenase enzyme. We as humans are chained by chains of iron & sulphur to the nitrogen cycle and we cannot discount or destroy the little critters that feed the plants that feed the animals that feed us. This is some real circle of life stuff here. So the most ancient bacteria require iron and sulphur (nano-pyrite) to create the nitrogen chemistry required for all life.

    EVOLUTION OF IRON-OXYGEN

If you look on the periodic table you will note the Oxygen (O) atomic number 8, Sulphur (S) atomic number 16, and Selenium (Se) atomic number 34 are in the same group. We can presume that iron (Fe) can react with either oxygen or sulphur but there was not much oxygen around in the early earth’s environment, so an iron sulfide rather than an iron oxide was more abundant and like today nitrogen is abundant.
Later as bacteria terraformed the earth into more oxygen rich place, life adapted & evolved to make use of iron-oxygen more and more instead of iron-sulphur. When did this happen exactly? I found one study that looked at the Molybdenum levels (Note many nano-pyrite containing nitrogenases have Mo) in organic carbon and claims that the earth’s oxygens levels increased dramatically in two distinct phases about 2500-541 million years ago at beginning and end of, and not only that but that the change to oxygen environment may have stimulated the change from prokaryotic to eukaryotic lifeforms.

    EVOLUTION OF HUMANS

By 300 million years ago there were complex sea life & insect life like giant millipedes and giant dragonflies so sure, oxygen change must have happened before then. Dinosaurs were about 140 million years ago, Mammals 40 million years ago and humans sometime rather recently 1 million years ago or less. An interesting note is that if Flint tools were found 3.3 million years ago, then either we can say fire was discovered by non-human primates before humans were around or else the human race is 3x older than we currently acknowledge (Some say 200-400k years old not even a full million years old species). The oldest known human remains were about 100k years old from a cave in S. Africa but was kinda sketchy (only a few teeth found so hard to confirm) or by the 30-40k years ago for sure our species was all over the world. If you are interested in human evolution be sure to check out the Denisovian cave in Russia where 3 species of Homo (Homo Sapiens, Neanderthals and Denisovians) were supposedly interbreeding 40k thousand years ago. Also it appears that monkey with tails evolved in S. America and Monkeys without tails like the Great Apes evolved in Africa. Did a pre-human primate species leave Africa and head to the New World or did a different co-emergent species of Great Ape come from S. America and Humans evolve in the New World or some other theory (Humans evolve in India subcontinent) or some other crazy route (S. America to Antarctica to Africa or Australia and on to Eurasia?) I just don’t know. I can tell you that there are huge Flint deposits in the Ohio-Michigan area so it’s not completely crazy to say you think humans may have discovered fire N. America, but it is equally likely that a pre-human species from S. America or Africa may have discovered fire 3 million years ago long before humans learned it from them later <1 million years ago. Human history is very annoying because for a supposedly smart species we really know very little about our history prior to only about 2500 BC. Part of this is to blame on iron where each new culinary cult likely would change history when it came into power. Regardless of very very ancient human evolution and migration, my ancestors at least came from Europe, Eurasia and before that closer to Iran and India, but certainly some of my European ancestors shared some relation to some of the N. American tribes circa the last ice age only about 10k thousand years ago, so very hard to say. Humans are a very very fast evolving species if we were still in the flint stone age only 10k thousand years ago!!! Even humans 2k years ago seem foreign in their customs and beliefs. Even humans only several hundred years ago!

CHRISTMAS ONLY A FEW HUNDRED YEARS AGO

As an example, since is near the Winter Solstice I want to mention a shocking piece of history I found that Christmas was outlawed in England by the Puritans and was not restored as a legal holiday until 1660 but remained disreputable! As an example George Washington, attacked the Hessians (German Mercenaries for England) on Christmas morning Dec 26th 1776! Bah Humbug (but glad we won the revolution) but not much early American Christmas Spirit lol. Christmas was outlawed in Boston in 1659 not revoked until 1681 but it was not until the mid 19th Century that celebrating Christmas became fashionable in Boston region! In the UK, Christmas day became a bank holiday in 1834. In 1843 Charles Dickens saves Christmas by writing A Christmas Carol which restored the popularity of Christmas going into the 19th century. My point is that if humans were in the stone age only 10k years ago and were a bunch of Winter Solstice haters only several hundred years ago, then humanity changes very very rapidly & who can say were we will be in several hundred more years?

    IRON IN HUMANS: THE BLOOD

Previously, I have discussed iron evolution in nitrogen fixation, oxygen evolution in prokaryotic to eukaryotic organism and last month I talked about how copper blood of insects and marine life gave way to iron blood of modern animals. Dinosaurs had iron blood. Humans have iron blood. Ticks & insects which may not have iron blood (copper blood instead) still learned to suck on dinosaurs, birds, marsupial and placental mammals and like it or not, we humans are related to life on earth be it through a monkey relation or a joint alien-monkey splice relation. With a 99% similarity to Chimp DNA, if aliens did splice our genes they didn’t really add all that much but the differences we must believe are all important. Regardless, iron in humans is related to iron in bacteria in a very real way not just from our dependence of nitrogen fixation but because our entire energy system involving oxygen respiration & electron transport chain appears to be requiring iron in a way that shows that it was influenced by evolution of life on an oxygen rich planet. So what is blood? Why did it evolve? As life became more multi-cellular it required a way to transport nutrients to different parts of itself. Groups of cells became tissues which became organs and even specialized organs evolved to bind, chaperone and transport certain high priority and important nutrients. In a grasshopper, there is a blood-like substance called hemolymph which does not actually contain heme (iron), instead it is a copper-oxygen blood but the oxygen containing copper metal flows unbound in the blood. In humans & reptiles, a better way to transport the oxygen was found which requires bound iron instead. The iron is in a heme (iron) group and the iron groups are bound inside what we call Red Blood Cells (RBCs). These “cells” are more like membrane bound transport containers than actually cells because they lack their own nuclei. The Greek erythros “red” and kytos “hollow vessel” makes more sense as a RBS is more like a hollow vessel than a cell. The vessel is filled with red iron which binds oxygen. The blood is used to the iron-oxygen heme to different organs in the human body via the circulatory system (heart-lungs, arteries, lymph, squeezing of muscles).

    HEMOGLOBIN

The cytoplasm inside the RBC is rich in hemoglobin, an iron rich biomolecule that can bind oxygen and chaperones oxygen via the RBC & circulatory system throughout the body. There are about 12-20 grams of hemoglobin in every 100 mL of blood. Each human (and mammalian) hemoglobin molecule can bind up to 4 oxygen molecules each, and hemoglobin protein makes up 96% of the dry weight of an RBC or 35% of its total content including water. The oxygen binding capacity of hemoglobin is 1.34 mL O2 per gram. Hemoglobin can also bind CO2 and can be blocked by Carbon monoxide (CO) which is why you should not breath in car exhaust in an enclosed area.
Hemoglobin also can bind and transport Nitric Oxide (NO) and important gas signaling molecule which promotes smooth muscle relaxation and delivers the NO at the same time as Oxygen.

A BETTER IRON SUPPLEMENT, LIVER, DIRT, OR ANTS

The heme group in hemoglobin is more like a fire-sheet than a firestone as the iron is surrounded by nitrogens (Fe(II) oxidation state) instead of sulphur or oxygens (sulphur in nano-firestone). So likely fixed nitrogen is required. So ideally a really good iron supplement would be an iron-nitrogen not an iron sulphur complex but I have seen lots of Fe(II)Sulphur type iron supplements and assume it would be possible to make a more effective Fe(II)Nitro supplement instead. However, I am not convinced that anyone except maybe under a few specific instances should even take an iron supplement. If I do ever make an iron supplement I will be looking at Fe(II)-N4 type but in all reality if you think you need more heme iron just eat liver. If you are a vegetarian than research the plants & animals that have hemoglobin molecules and eat more of those. The best way to get iron and other nutrients from bone would be to just boil a chicken and drink the broth or eat red meat. If you are truly iron deficient, you may start craving and can possibly benefit from just eating some dirt (clay, or iron oxide containing soil). Chimps are sometimes seen eating dirt and so you could theoretically get iron from eating those are well. A source of iron for Chimps that humans don’t get is that they eat a lot of ant insects, so chocolate covered ants in the stocking this year anyone? Ho Ho Ho! Forget Coal! I want ferric dirt and ants!!!! A firestone would be nice Santa Baby =) Note that a 3.5 oz serving of red ants contains about 14g of protein and 6mg of iron, a serving of which is around 33-71% of what a human needs in a day. Ants yum! lol.

HEMOGLOBIN OUTSIDE THE BLOOD: IRON ANTIOXIDANT & IRON METABOLISM

There is even hemoglobin outside of RBC’s in some tissues (dopaminergic neurons in substantial nigra in brain, macrophages in white blood cells, alveolar cells, lungs, retinal pigment epithelium, hepatocytes (liver), kidney, endometrial cells, cervical cells & vagina epithelial cells. These iron containing heme proteins serve as anti-oxidants and regulator of iron metabolism (IRON USED ALL OVER BODY NOT JUST BLOOD IS IMPORTANT TAKE HOME). I am still trying to process all the new information concerning iron in neuroscience much less all the other uses. For female readers the usage of iron in reproductive tract is significant. It is widely believed that women need double the amount of iron as a man especially before pregnancy and iron supplementing is common in women especially after menstruation.

HEMOGLOBIN OUTSIDE THE SPECIES: IRON TIP FOR VEGETARIANS

Hemoglobin & hemoglobin like molecules are found in many invertebrates, fungi & and plants. If you are a Vegan or Vegetarian and really don’t want to boil a chicken, eat liver, or eat red meat, it might behoove you to figure out what fungi and plants are also high in hemoglobin iron as that might work out well instead. Just try a variety of foods and see what your body craves as that will have the nutrient be it iron or something else that you need.

    MAKING BLOOD

The human body makes blood (erythropoiesis) in the bone marrow. In order to make the hemoglobin containing red blood cells (RBCs), the bone will need ample supply of iron. There is not much free iron in the blood. Instead iron is mostly (Besides in the RBCs) stored in the liver and in the Intestinal lining. Somehow the bone cells must communicate with the liver & intestinal lining to get more iron so that it can make more RBCs.

IRON HOMEOSTASIS: REQUESTING IRON FROM INTESTINES

The main way that the body gets more iron is through absorption through the small intestine. Not only do the cells of the small intestine absorb dietary iron, but also they STORE it to await for when the body wants it. The stored iron is effluxed from the small intestine to the blood using a transport protein called Ferroportin (Fpn) a transmembrane protein that transports iron from inside of a cell to the outside of cell. Fpn is the ONLY known iron exporter and thus a very important protein for getting iron into the body via the small intestine.

There must be some signal from the body to let the Fpn in the small intestine know to let in more iron.

It is known that Calcium is a known co-factor for the Fpn protein. Thus it is likely that calcium signaling, possibly from calcium released by the bone into the blood could be the signal to let the small intestine know to let more dietary iron in form the small intestine store.

    IRON ANEMIA

Anemia is a decrease in the total amount of red blood cells (RBCs) or hemoglobin in the blood or a lowed ability of the blood to carry oxygen. The most common type of anemia is iron anemia from low iron. If the bone marrow does not have enough iron available (or vitamin B12 available) it cannot make enough enough RBCs. Without enough RBCs, the blood cannot carry enough oxygen, thus you will feel tired and feel weak.

Anemia is the most common blood disorder affecting about a third of the global population. Anemia could be cause from low iron, but can also be cause from infection (malaria), inflammation or from trauma such as blood loss, or from certain genetic diseases (sickle cell anemia) or from bone marrow cancer.

Whereas in third world countries the top cause of anemia is probably from infection such as malaria, in America, it is my belief that the top cause of anemia is from fluoride and from inflammation and also infections and cancers from toxins in the food and water and from vaccinosis (vaccine inflammatory toxins such as mercury, lead, and aluminum).

FLUORIDE ANEMIA FROM CALCIUM DISRUPTION OF FERRIPORTIN

Fluoride is insoluble with calcium and thus fluoride toxic halogen can disrupt iron absorption, or more precisely will disrupt the efflux of iron from small intestine into the bloodstream as it will disrupt Ferriportin (Fpn), the iron efflux protein. Go back and read my old newsletter “Fluoride & Kidney Stones” to learn more about how fluoride also disrupts the calcium levels by suppressing the vitamin D pathway, calcitriol, suppressing kidneys which do not properly reabsorb enough calcium back from the urine and thus the calcium levels will drop in the blood. Low blood calcium may be too low to activate the Fpn protein to allow the efflux of iron into the bloodstream from the small intestine store. Thus if you are iodine deficient, & even worse are blocked in the vitamin D, kidney, calcitriol, calcium reabsorption pathway, then it makes sense if you are also low iron. Many people are low iron who are actually just iodine deficient (with high halogens) and the calcium mediation of the Fpn protein explains the common observation that when people take iMedDo supplements that their iron levels go back to normal after being low because this is expected if the calcium pathway is blocked with fluoride because iodine detoxes fluoride.

MAINSTREAM VS ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE ON IRON

Mainstream does a good job documenting anemia with pathology tests to show whether your red blood cells are high or low or whether you serum iron proteins (ferritin) are high or low, and I think blood tests are great if you can afford them. What mainstream medicine does not do well is tell you that halogens and heavy metals from vaccines can be the cause of the anemia. The inflammation from the heavy metals can be causing the break down of RBCs into the blood. Free iron in the blood feeds infection. As macrophages and white blood cells try to fight the infection your copper levels might increase to help in the fight. At the same time as the chaperoned iron is low, the free iron is too high and the liver will send the Hepcidin signal to the Fpn protein in the small intestine to tell it to STOP letting more iron into the blood. The result is you are low iron (anemic) in the parts of your body that need it (low hemoglobin & low RBCs) but you body is telling you liver NOT to let in more iron because the free iron content in the blood is too high. The solution is kill the infection & detox the poison that is rupturing or suppressing the RBCs and then your iron homeostasis will return to normal.

    FLUORIDE & MERCURY DETOX

If you are anemic and just taking an iron pill is not working, it is probably because your liver is telling your small intestine not to let any iron in (hepcidin & Fpn protein). The toxins that I see so many Americans suffering with are simply poison from the dentist of Fluoride and Mercury in older people and Heavy Metals from vaccine poison like Mercury, Lead & Aluminum in the younger. If you have fluoride in your system, it will bind calcium and block your calcium reabsorption and thus your calcium levels will be too low to activate the Fpn protein to allow iron in and likely your iron levels are just being disrupted by the toxic fluoride halogen. Many people have excess fluoride stored in their bones which is also disrupting the bone marrow even if it does have enough iron to make RBCs correctly. Likely many of the bone marrow cancers are from halogens & heavy metals just as many infection and cancers go away when you detox.

NOBLE METALS AID IN THE OXYGEN BATTLE

Bacteria love iron, and free iron in the blood is bad for us because it will stimulate infection. When there is an infection, there is an oxygen battle were the invader and us the defender have competing processes to use the oxygen, iron and other nutrients. The bacteria wants to absorb the iron and to use it to break down and reactive oxygen species ROS that our immune system might use to try to kill it, and our body wants to reabsorb the iron in binding proteins so that the iron can be safely stored either in small intestine, liver, or used by bone marrow to make more RBCs so that the oxygen can be used for respiration. We get oxygen from our lungs and we exhale carbon dioxide and the iron is important for our aerobic respiration whereas many bacteria are fine to use anaerobic respiration with sulphur instead of oxygen an older pathway. Under normal circumstances the bacteria if it gets into the blood does not stand a chance. Our immune system cells such as a macrophage can engulf the bacteria and then attack it with ROS such as H202 (hydrogen peroxide) using an iron enzyme. In defense some bacteria have evolved catalase iron proteins which can break down the H202 to water so that they will not be destroyed. This is battle using iron by both sides where the attacker seeks to kill the other with ROS and whoever can utilize the oxygen the best wins. You want to create H202 peroxide to throw at the enemy and you want to break down the enemy’s H202 before it damages you. The battle of oxygen is the battle of hydrogen peroxide reactive oxygen species (H202 ROS) and the battle is likely won by whichever side can grab the most iron. Copper noble metal seems to have evolved as a way to grab oxygen instead of grabbing it with iron. Silver & Gold tip the battle to your side and make sure the bacteria or taxin is gotten rid of when combined with iodine.

ALDEHYDE OXIDASE AIDS IN THE OXYGEN BATTLE WITH IRON, COPPER & MOLYBDENUM & DETOX

Another iron containing enzyme is called aldehyde oxidase (AO) which catalyzes the conversion of an aldehyde in the presence of oxygen and water to an acid and hydrogen peroxide H202. AO can be used by our body to attack the bacteria or by the bacteria to attack us with H202 ROS. Aldehyde oxidase is very concentrated in the liver, where it oxidizes multiple aldehydes and nitrogenous heterocyclic compounds and helps detox harmful pharmaceutical drugs. Some AO activity has been located in other parts of the body—including the lungs (epithelial cells and alveolar cells), the kidneys, and the gastrointestinal tract (small and large intestines). Some known inhibitors of AO are sterol and phenol compounds, like estradiol. So too much estrogen and AO is blocked. Also see last month’s “Copper Containment” episode for discussion of how heavy metals like mercury can disrupt estrogen pathway. When estrogen too high then you get not enough H202 when you need it, such as when you need it to kill an infection such as in a macrophage. AO requires Molybdenum (Mo) as well as Copper (Cu) in addition to requiring iron. AO is very important for liver detox & drug clearance.

    HEME IN SULFITE OXIDASE (SO)

Sulfite oxidase (SO) is required to metabolize the sulfur-containing amino acids cysteine and methionine in foods. This protein is interesting because not only does it contain a heme (iron) group but also a Mo cofactor, but rather than the the heme carrying oxygen in the blood, SO works in the mitochondria & oxidizes sulfite to sulfate and, via cytochrome c, transfers the electrons produced to the electron transport chain, allowing generation of ATP in oxidative phosphorylation. This is likely an ancient “firestone” derived pathway as it involves iron and sulphur. Heme groups are iron with nitrogen rather than oxygen or sulphur so fixed nitrogen is important for using heme in both mitochondrial membrane (SO) as well as in the blood (hemoglobin). A variety of SO proteins can be found in the body with different types such as for cytosol, mitochondria, membrane associated and secreted.

    XANTHINE OXIDASE (XOA)

Another firestone related protein that has an Fe-S cluster is called Xanthine Oxidase (XOA). XOA enzymes play an important role in the catabolism of purines in some species, including humans & XOA generates a lot of reactive oxygen species (ROS) including the superoxide. These enzymes catalyze the oxidation of hypoxanthine to xanthine and can further catalyze the oxidation of xanthine to uric acid.
Most of the protein in the liver exists in a form with xanthine dehydrogenase activity, but it can be converted to xanthine oxidase by reversible sulfhydryl oxidation or by irreversible proteolytic modification.

    CATALASE USE IN BIOLOGICAL WARFARE

Iron is the important metal core of an enzyme used in turning hydrogen peroxide (H202) in to oxygen (O2) and water. Fighting over iron and the control of the oxygen pathway used for warfare is an evolutionary tug o ‘war between bacteria wishing to invade, and higher level organisms wishing to kill the bacteria. Catalase is a common enzyme found in nearly all lifeforms exposed to oxygen (bacteria, plants & animals) not just bacteria as is the case with nitrogenase. Catalase contains 4 iron (heme) groups and is very important from protecting a cell from oxidative damage from reactive oxygen species (ROS). The cell of the defender organism wants to use ROS to destroy the invader, and the cell of the invader bacteria wants to use the catalase to destroy the ROS before it loses its own cell membrane integrity. So on one hand ROS is bad for damaging yourself, but ROS is good for attacking an invader. To limit damage to self ROS can be contained. Some organism have developed special cells to engulf the invader bacteria cells and attack with ROS, and some bacteria have developed catalase activity to try to break down the ROS before it can be damaged! In humans the macrophage white blood cell can phagocytose an invader bacteria and then product H202 ROS to attack it and some defender bacteria with catalase activity use their iron containing catalase enzyme to break down the ROS. Catalase like the name sounds like “catalyst” has one of the HIGHEST turnover rates of ALL enzymes, and a single quad-iron containing catalase molecule can convert MILLIONS of hydrogen peroxide molecule to break down into water and oxygen per second!

NOBLE METALS VS ARSENIC IN CATALASE BATTLE

Copper & Silver can inhibit bacterial quad-iron containing catalase helping the immune system kill the invader with ROS, whereas arsenic (As) can make the catalase go faster favoring the catalase positive bacterial countermeasures to help it escape. This is one of the reasons why Arsenic is bad for humans as it helps bacteria grow and copper and silver kill bacteria. Because the copper pathway is older, many bacteria have work arounds to escape it using their iron pathway but cannot escape the silver. When you hear that silver break down bacterial cell walls and boosts the immune system, now you know one of the pathways, the catalase pathway. Whereas inhibiting bacterial catalase is good, the body does not want to inhibit its own catalase so different enzymes are used in the liver to chaperone noble metals, and metals such as arsenic and nickel and likely cobalt that help bacteria avoid destruction are detoxed.

SUPEROXIDE DISMUTASE (SO) ANTIOXIDANT & CYTOCHROME C

I first discussed Superoxide dismustase (SOD) in last month’s copper issue, but it is important to mention again when discussing iron. Here is what I said: “An interesting thing to note is that in humans & yeast our anti-oxidant SOD proteins uses Copper-Zinc (Cu-Zn) pair whereas our mitochondria use an iron-manganese (Fe-Mn) pair compared to a bacteria which uses Nickel (Ni).” The important thing to note is that there appears to be an evolution of from nickel to iron to copper when using SOD. Iron (Fe) is used in the human body for the Mitochondrial pathway which is a very old pathway. Just as there is a copper-zinc pair there is an iron-manganese metal conductivity pair where the copper or iron is the conductive metal and the zinc or manganese is (my belief) being used as the non-conductive part of the pair. “Copper was replaced by iron for carrying oxygen in the human blood (see hemoglobin) and copper and iron are used in many proteins that involve oxygen such as in the mitochondrial electron transport chain and in human Cu-Zn SOD.” From last month: “Another important oxidase in the body that uses copper is the cytochrome c oxidase which has copper centers as part of the mitochondrial electron transport chain for producing ATP. The electrical properties of copper are used by the body to produce energy which makes sense though the way it does it is extremely complicated and also involves iron.” Important to note that iron is used in both SO and CYT C and in these two cases there is overlap with the noble metals as copper is used in them as well.

    FERRIPORTIN & HEPCIDIN DISRUPTION: DETOX!

The liver tells the small intestine using hepcidin hormone to STOP absorbing so much iron through the ferriportin efflux protein. I think this is important because if you are low in iron but you are eating lots of it, such as an iron supplement, then this is what could be going on as to why the iron is not absorbing. It could be that the liver is not wanting to let the small intestine let more iron in for some other reason that needs to be addressed such as infection or inflammation and thus you may need to detox. The most valuable thing I learned from writing this article is that the ferriportin iron efflux protein that lets iron into the body from the small intestine requires calcium to be present to function & this is the direct connection as to why fluoride which form insoluble calcium fluoride can disrupt your iron levels as it can disrupt calcium levels. Also read my article “Fluoride & Kidney Stones” for more info on how fluoride disrupts calcium reabsorption. Low blood calcium level from halogen toxicity will result in low iron absorption and anemia.

    IRON IN CONNECTIVE TISSUE FORMATION

Connective tissue is found in between other tissues everywhere in the body, including the nervous system. Iron plays a role in modifications of collagen in connective tissues. Iron functions in the hydroxylation of proly and lysl amino acid residues in the collagen.

    IRON IN BRAIN

Too much iron is toxic in the brain and causes neuro-degeneration. Iron protein transferrin has been found in the brain in the periventricular system that bathes the hippocampus and likely functions to keep the iron from getting too high.

    IRON IN MILK

Instead of the regular ferritin protein, babies in the milk get a special milk iron protein called lactoferritin which has an exponentially increased infinity towards iron. This allows the baby to hold on to iron and outcompete bacteria iron proteins to protect the baby from infection. Some believe that if an adult drinks milk that it can disrupt the absorption of iron (because the milk protein lactoferritin binds it tightly). This makes no sense to me since likely the form of iron in the milk is actually easier to absorb. If you are high or low in iron try alternating drinking milk or not to see which one works. I am skeptical that milk blocks iron absorption (what is taught in mainstream medicine), but milk and coffee should help your intestinal lining detox. There is the idea that drinking milk & coffee can reduce your iron level (would reduce/detox) excess iron in the intestinal lining (which makes sense) but I don’t think this is a bad thing, as I think the stores of iron there are excessive and happy to leave (bleeding is the body’s only other way to get rid of). Milk is a nutrient rich substance made for babies that may or may not be appropriate for adults at all times. It may be that baby milk does not let your intestines absorb enough iron, but likely is compensated for in richness of other nutrients. To milk or not to milk, go with your gut. If anemic consider reduced milk or alternating days of milk.

    TOO MUCH IRON

Although iron is a nutrient too much of it is a problem and thus the body is very picky about only letting in as much as it needs because extra iron in the wrong places can accidentally feed bacteria and help them generate ROS which can damage the cells. The iron the body uses is all contained and stored i.e. iron containment (also se my article last week about “copper containment”. The main places the iron is tired is inside red blood cell hemoglobin, inside ferritin proteins, in the liver and in the small intestinal lining. Storage of the iron in the intestinal lining is like how the body treats heavy metals it want to get rid of. The lining cells can slough off getting rid of the unwanted metals and possibly that is why the uterine lining of women sloughs off is to get rid of excel iron through menstrual blood. So maybe most the time your body is not trying to absorb iron but to GET RID of it! To support this, the known liver protein Hepcidin is not telling the intestine to let iron in but rather to KEEP IRON OUT! So when this happens taking an iron supplement is not helpful. Instead see if there is some other undying cause of anemia such as infection or inflammation. There is a rare genetic disorder affecting people of Celtic background where iron level can get too high and this may have contributed to the myth that “iron is toxic to fairies”.

    SUPPLEMENT OR NOT TO SUPPLEMENT?

Yes I think everyone should supplement with my system as well as a multivitamin, vitamin C and fish oil. A multivitamin should contain a little bit of iron as well as the foods you eat. I do not think that you should supplement iron excepting for cases of documented anemia, and even then I think you need to make sure the cause is not from halogens & heavy metals (why supplementing with my system is important).

    IRON & MENSTRATION

The only time it is common for people to supplement iron is for women before pregnancy & after menstrual flow. It seems iron is diverted to the uterine lining as a nutrient but perhaps when the egg is not fertilized the excess iron becomes a liability and the body has to dump it (bleeding is the body’s primary way of getting rid of iron) to prevent the iron feeding an infection or from creating ROS. But even then I am skeptical as to whether you should take an iron supplement as you can get if from food instead.

    IRON FROM FOOD

Our body primarily uses iron in heme which has already been attached to fixed nitrogen and heme is only found in animals not plants though you can get iron from plants and fungi but you have to eat more so the body can process it more. The easiest way to get iron in heme is simply by eating animal such as pig, beef or chicken liver. I don’t bother with expense blood tests, I simply check to see if my body likes the laste of liver (I never have) and thus I personally believe that I am not iron deficient. But if you are, you might experience an increase in desire to eat meat or even an increased desire to eat dirt such as clay or iron oxide containing red soil. Chimps have been observed to eat many sources of iron, plant (fig, banana, leaves), insect primarily ant, as well as pork (bushpig) and even eating dirt. Humans have many of food sources of iron to turn to, so not sure if supplementing iron is worth it. Also iron supplements can turn your poop black, make it smell worse (iron sulfate pills release sulphur), and other weird side effects.

MARS VS VENUS: CARNIVORE VS VEGETARIAN: MALE VS FEMALE

Iron is supposedly the male nutrient (symbol for Mars) vs Copper the female nutrient (symbol of Venus); but according to mainstream medicine women need double the iron as men. However, this just doesn’t add up because I see men are more frequently eating meat and women are more frequently vegetarians and this indicates to me that men are craving heme iron more and women are craving plant iron more. Observing both Chimps and Humans it seem the males are more likely to go hunting for meat, chimps for bushpig (see Dr. Tanner’s “On Becoming Human” Chimp Book from 1981), and where I live the men for deer. So I just have not received clarity on iron yet, eat meat if you crave it, if not don’t but don’t judge as nutritional requirements for men and woman likely vary and the difference in male vs female supposed nutrition requirement (double for women) or iron reminds me a lot of iodine where women need double as well. Assuming mainstream medicine is correct then iron should be considered a “female nutrient” with symbol of Inanna the Fertile Goddess of War instead of Mars the God of War. Perhaps the discrepancy is that men evolved to hunt meat share with women to impress them during estrous. A fertile woman might crave meat more (pregnancy & lactation requires iron) and infertile women might crave meat less (less reason to have iron if just dumping it in menstrual blood every month or after menopause). Chimps hunt bush pigs and even other monkeys for meat to share with a female they want to impress, so maybe in humans as well not sure. Human females evolved to have a hidden estrous which likely plays a role in iron nutrition in a way I have not been able to fully process. Women are from Venus & Men are from Mars, I suppose. Iron disruption may play a role in the continuing trend in the human race towards lessened sexual dimorphism. Male chimps have carnivorous canine teeth 40% larger than female chimps whereas male humans only have carnivorous canine teeth 6% larger than female human canine teeth potentially indicating a lessoned need for meat (and iron) in the human race and lessened sexual dimorphism.

    CONCLUSION

Iron is found naturally in pyrite “firestone” crystal with sulphur as iron sulfide. Iron sulphide “nano-pyrite” is used in ancient and modern bacteria to fix nitrogen.
With the availability of fixed nitrogen, iron-nitrogen heme groups evolved which allow iron to transport oxygen in the human body. Iron sulfide groups which may have evolved from nano-pyrite are still used in the human body to process Oxygen in respiration, oxidative phosphorylation, chemical reactions & chemical warfare against infection and stress by processing H202 (hydrogen peroxide) reactive oxygen species (ROS). An iron binding protein called transferrin modulates the blood iron content and a iron absorption through the small intestine is modulated by a liver hormone hepcidin and requires a calcium cofactor, and thus can be disrupted by fluoride. The body likes to hold on to iron and rarely loses much except through blood loss. You can get iron in the diet readily as a carnivore by eating liver. Women may need more iron than men but you would never know it from the way men eat more meat. If you have anemia and your iron supplement is not working, please try iMedDo Detox System and see if your iron homeostasis returns to normal. If it does it is likely because you have unblocked a pathway disrupted by halogens & heavy metals. Hopefully after reading this article you have a new appreciation for how your body contains iron and uses the “firestone of life” to use the oxygen “fire” to power, energize and protect itself.
