Previously, I have written on the most ancient boardgames Senet and Mehen, and for this episode I’m going to talk about the TAU shaped boardgames and what they mean for religion with relationship to golden Christ and sun worship as it can be traced back across archaeology. TAU shaped boardgames are shaped like a mace, a blunt weapon i.e. a big stick, with a conserved 12 square (3×4) “zodiac” section, and most frequently consist of 20 squares total where the Royal Game of Ur is the most famous with more examples being found in Egypt and Iran. Most excitingly are the new ancient boardgames found in Jiroft, Iran which provide the missing context to tie it all together.

ORIGIN OF TAU

Although much debate and archeology is ongoing with Gobekli Tepi, it seems to me that the TAU pillars most likely supported wooden roofs which allowed in the sunlight where the pillars were decorated with animal motifs aligning with the stars as part of an ancient burial cult which might have involved exposure of human remains to vulture and other carnivore animal depictions as part of a ritual purification and resurrection-reincarnation belief system, maybe not so different from later religions of night/death, day/sun light/life cyclical patterns of sun worship later more popularized in Egypt many millenia later and adopted by the Roman Empire as sun worship as Christianity relevant to modern times. Likely back then the zodiac animals were different, but the one that has persisted with the most conservation throughout all of human history is the scorpion motif which likely represents the scorpio constellation, likely the oldest conserved zodiac sign.

Tau shaped pillar with scorpion, vultures, other animals, and the “mes” (handbag/bucket/weight) in triplicate. The vulture which most likely symbolizes a protective death goddess (vultures associated with carrying soul to the heavens in exposed body burials), is holding the soul of the deceased and protecting it from the scorpion and other carnivores. The mes “handbags” are weights or buckets in triplicate, compare to the three stars of the Orion constellation, which hold and guard the essence of the departed soul through the night/death as it awaits reincarnation/resurrection as the sun/day/life. There was likely some ritual purification time for deceased bones where they were exposed for vultures and protected from carnivores, and then the skull was saved by the ancestors for necromantic consultations.

Long story short: Fast forward 10,000 years and note the similarity to Christ being crucified on a Tau shaped cross, and the mention of the importance of the skull (Golgotha) in the Bible. Okay now rewind.

The TAU columns at Gobekli Tepi also have arms and human features wearing a loincloth indicating that the column itself represents the deceased, and snakes going up the side of pillars indicating the transmigration of the soul (snakes ancient symbols of eternal life as they shed their skin to become new again).

Okay, now fast forward 10,000 years, and note the similarity of Jesus Christ on a TAU cross.

And note the Biblical similarity of three crosses at calvary, comparable to the three mes symbols of the messiah found at Gobekli Tepi on the TAU cross with the vulture and scorpion.

Gobekli Tepi the oldest known archaeological religious site has almost the exact same solar/zodiac/resurrection Christian religious beliefs as found a whopping 10,000 years later in Roman Empire.

5000 YEARS OLD TAU BOARDGAMES

Okay, now rewind 5000 years ago, which is still 5000 years after GT, and look at recent archaeology from Jiroft, Iran. After a flood, villages started finding amazing works of art carved in soapstone which turned out to be ancient grave goods of a forgotten culture which appears to be a direct descendant of GT religion as it prominently features the mes symbol which is also found on GT TAU pillars 5000 years earlier but with much more stunning artistic detail.

In Jiroft, 5000 year old Mes were found estimated from second half of third millenium BC (2800-2300 BC) which look very similar to the ones depicted on top of the Gobekli Tepi TAU pillars. The Jiroft culture might have been a proto-Elamite culture, a rival of neighboring Ur.

The artwork from Jiroft is stunning with hundreds of objects found so far. Of them the most amazing to me is that they found a treasure trove of many unique boardgames, most of which appear to be TAU boardgames. You can see pictures of them at boardgamegeek.com & here’s a pic I found on pinterest:

TAU BOARDGAMES

To read about TAU boardgames check out the website of Ludologist (game expert) James Masters:

https://www.tradgames.org.uk/games/Royal-Game-Ur.htm

The most famous example of a TAU boardgame is the Royal Game of Ur (2600-2400 BC) which overlaps in time-period with the boardgames found in Jiroft.

Another example of a TAU boardgame is the Game of 20 squares found in Egypt.

Note that the games are kind of mace like in shape with a conserved 12 square 4×3 area that is believed to be associaed with the zodiac, and games typically have 20 spots. It’s hard to get an exact date on these artifacts as they were originally looted by locals and sold on the black market.

The final two boardgames from Jiroft are not TAU boardgames, jewel of the collection is a chimeric “scorpion man” (bird wings & fish body?) it has 16 spaces but does not not appear to be a TAU boardgame as no conserved 12 spaces at top, and you can’t grab it like a mace as the scorption tail is curved.

*Scorpion men as the “girtablullu” are mentioned in Mesopotamian Epic of Gilgamesh as guardians of the gates to the sun.

*Perhaps you have to grab this scorpion by the tail, like a TAU hero master of animals to beat this as a side game before you are ready to play the actual TAU game to meet the gates of the sun with the full 20 square zodiac game. Many animals motiffs are found at Gobekli Tepi and many animal motiffs are also found at Jiroft with conserved snake, feline, scorpion motiffs in particular.

At GT, the TAU stone columns themselves are the human who is depicted with motifs of renewal (snakes), strength (lion/feline), death (vulture), danger (scorpion) etc.

At Jiroft, without a stone temple, these same ideas are instead incorporated onto stone artwork where the motif of a human chimerized with animals is used. At Jiroft we more clearly see the “Master of Animals” motiff found widespread in Mesopotamian artwork where a heroic figure likely the ruler is depicted as overcoming dangerous chaotic creatures such as grabbing the “tiger by the tail” demonstrating strength.

Rather than a tiger, the feline is a leopard where the spots represent the stars. The tail of the leopard is considered very dangerous and is also represented as a snake and a scorpion. One copy of Senet (a 30 square game) had 20 squares on the reverse side. So while the United Kingdom of Israel was spliting into the divided Kingdoms of Israel and Judah, and the Assyrian Empire on the rise, people over in Turkey were playing this TAU game!

THE SACRED CIRCLE GAME: MEHEN

TAU shaped boardgames, in my opinion trace back to the ancient temple pillars and religion of Turkey at Gobekli Tepi, but the temple itself was not round but rather a circle! The Gobekli Tepi archeology shows many examples of circle temples with TAU columns over 20 and then in the latest times they started building square temples where the circle must have fallen out of favor. The same trend was also found in ancient Egypt where pan graves were replaced by square graves. I imagine that there might have been some religious upheaval and argument over the millenia about what was better the square or the circle, and the square supporter eventually created square shaped TAU boardgames, but the circle lovers seem to have their own circle game Mehen which is spiral shape which took religion in a whole different direction and geometry. The sacred circle cult appeared to love the sacred spiral and the best example of their temple remains is found on the island of Malta.

SPIRAL LOVERS

The spiral boardgame Mehen is attested from about 3600 BC- 2300 BC which coincide with Megalithic Temple remains on Malta found which were built between 3600 BC-3000 BC and used until about 2500 BC, not long after which Mehen died out soon thereafter in Egypt 2300 BC, giving rise to a new theory that Mehen was the religous boardgame of the Malta religion, and that the game may have died out after the abandonment or loss of faith in the Malta religion after 2500 BC where for some reason the TAU square games became dominant over the circle/spiral religious games.

Megalithic Malta religion loved spirals, and it could be that the religious spiral boardgame Mehen’s origins and fate were tied to the rise and fall of the Malta religion which had close ties to Egyptian, Phonecian, Carthagenian and Greek religions in later times. Dual Greek and Phonecian inscriptions were found in Malta which allowed the decipherment of the Phonecian langauge with comparison to the Hebrew language which also has strong Egyptian connections.

CONNECTION OF THE SPIRAL TO THE TAU BOARDGAME

The earliest known spiral boardgames like Mehen seem to predate the earliest known TAU boardgames by about 500 years (3000 BC vs 2500 BC) where around 2500 BC there must have been some change in relgion, climate or empire that caused people to lose faith in the spiral games for religious use, though as we see the spiral is still used for grave inscriptions in Crete and by Etruscans much later, but maybe not as boardgames just inscribed spirals.

To see the connection we have to reconstruct the covered up history of Europe and its connection to Turkey and get past the 1200-600 BC Biblical religious bottleneck by looking at it critically alongside known archaeology to paint a picture of what is going on. To do that that my strategy is to look at ancient pottery and ancient metallurgy and trade networks with deep study of ancient history and archeology, and what I found was shocking. Most of what we have been taught about history is a lie, and the truth will set you free as it leads to the knowledge of silver medicine which leads to gold medicine which leads to Christ where the Christian religion wraps back around to the most ancient known religion at Gobekli Tepi forming a beautiful ouroboros.

The iMedDo NeuMandalla art created by Aaron Baird in 2015 AD is a three tiered three dimensional art where you as the eye are the center as the central column as the hero as you look at your own reflection and bounce love back to yourself. I never noticed it before, but now I see the silver and gold spiral around like stars for 12 zodiac directions which can be mapped to a TAU boardgame. Six directions are alternating silver and gold, and the other 6 directions are the alternating stainless steel support columns alternating with noting flanked on both sides by gold. The NeuMandalla is art, but now I see that it’s also the TAU game of Christ which teaches of gold using silver and iodine.
